Casa Gitane Amsterdam – showroom (opening June 28 and 29, 2019)
Of the most labels, interior brands in this case, we usually like about half. But in the case of the Amsterdam based Casa Gitane, we are already starting to salivate when the Ca- of Casa has not even been pronounced yet. We want everything. Everything. From the one-of-a-kind chairs to the vintage vases, the (children's) couches and the gold-colored sleek lamps. Everything.
So there is a 50/50 chance that you will see us during the opening of the new Casa Gitane showroom in the Amsterdamse Pijp on June 28 and 29. 50% yes because we think everything is so beautiful and we like to marvel. 50% chance of no because we are broke (hello summer) and can't get empty on all the beauty. Well.
That said the spot-on price-quality ratio of Casa Gitane is one of the reasons we are fans: the furniture and accessories sometimes seem unaffordable, but they are not, certainly not given the originality and it never out of style level of the items. Add to this that Casa Gitane owners Stella and Machteld have unparalleled noses for what 'is going on', and translate that into their Casa Gitane products and into the homes and other (catering) locations that they furnish (so you can also let's do it!)
And now there is a new (beautiful – we've already seen it) showroom on the Gerard Doustraat in the Pijp. In a former garage where light enters through a large skylight, the chairs, vases, coffee tables and armchairs were given the space they deserve. If you want to go and watch, and you do, put June 28 and 29 in bold underline in your calendar.
By the way, we already fell for it Casa Gitane before we had ever seen a product. Gitane means 'gipsy' and Casa Gitane is inspired by remote places around the world and a nomadic lifestyle. The Gitane agency creates interior concepts for restaurants, shops, private homes and events. The private label Casa Gitane is a collection of unique treasures and designs.
The showroom opening on June 28 and 29 is from 10 am to 18 pm. Address: Gerard Doustraat 128a. If you are unable to attend one of these days, but are curious, please make an appointment for another time.
