Choux, Amsterdam
Restaurant darling Foyer, loved by yours truly and the rest of food loving Amsterdam, was just a matter of trial run, as it turns out. The men behind the successful pop-up (which is not luck, just a matter of being good) opened a restaurant for the eggie and named it Choux. Nothing pop-up, Choux is to stay.
An equally cool restaurant was set up in a cool red building, 3 trips from Amsterdam CS (handy!). No crazy frills, just simple tables, long benches, tiles on the walls and floors, open kitchen, a plant and a vintage sofa here and there and a large red staircase as an eye-catcher (it was probably already there, but that doesn't make it any less eye-catching). catchy). But you go to Choux, just like at Foyer, mainly for the food. And – of course we want to say – Choux does not disappoint. The menu is again exciting with special dishes with lots of fish and seasonal vegetables and the menu (which of course changes) is available in 3 courses for € 31, 4 courses for € 39 or 7 courses for € 55 with 3 matching glasses of wine for € 19, 4 for €26 and 7 glasses €40 (= rolling home).
