The corner of Bali that you probably didn't know yet: Escape Nomade Bali
Yes, our frantic reporter on the beautiful island of Bali has been on her own (sort of) piece of paradise on earth again. “Yesterday we were at one of the most beautiful/ romantic/ best styled places on the island!”, she texted me. It's called Escape Nomade and it has to be on Bart. Oh okay. With these people: Escape Nomad Bali, not to be missed.
The main focus of the beautiful Escape Nomad is designing and selling their own so-called 'luxury tented villas'. Just look at the picture above. We also want it, but 1) we can't take it home and 2) we would also like to have a house with a garden where we can put it. We don't have that, that's besides the point.
If you are in the same boat as us, there is certainly no need for the man: fortunately you can now also enjoy true Bali style in this piece of paradise on earth, set up by the Dutch owner Anneke. experiences books. There are four different options including staying a night in a tent (oooo yaaaaa), or having dinner in (and in front of) one of the great tents. Simpler, but equally impressive and stylish, is also possible; in that case you can book a High Tea or a picnic.
You could just opt for the High Tea, we did that too and it was awesome. You will get a full program that looks something like this:
You start with, of course, a warm welcome where you can immediately 'immerse yourself' with a rosewater towel. A glass of lemon water on the side. Then you get a foot bath with fragrant and colorful flowers (we already said it: Bali style) and with a fresh juice at the flowing river where a first (slightly smaller, as it turns out) tent has been set up (so beautiful). Then you go from your foot bath into the tent for a full body massage, the soothing sound of the river and the scents of the island as the only entourage. Plus it was the best island massage so far, and we actually tried quite a few).
But... you said high tea, right?
Yes, that comes when you have completely relaxed, after the massage in the first tent. You are gently led to the next tent, the luxury tent that it is all about. High Tea is served here: very tasty and welcome after such an incredibly intensive massage workout. You understand.
The tea ceremony is further enhanced by the cutest dance performance by two Balinese girls.
Finished? You really don't have to go anywhere for a while. Please hang around in the tent.
If you are planning to move to Bali, have a chat with owner Anneke. She has been living in Bali for 12 years, the last 10 of which in her own Escape Nomade near Ubud in the middle of the island, in a place you rarely visit. Anneke radiates happiness, so something must be going right there. We also want thank you very much.
Would you rather have a picnic? Then Anneke promises “The romance of the evening is conjured thanks to the bamboo lights, candles and transparency to the surroundings, casting shadows of you with your partner. You will find total harmony and peace, as it feels like a home nestled in the lap of mother nature!"
Or a dinner: “Arrival at the property is through two large, carved Balinese doors where you are welcomed with a bamboo fan and hat before being led along a wooden boardwalk with lush grasses and palm trees lining either side of the path. The experience honestly feels like you have stepped onto the set in a scene from Out of Africa!"
Once again: thank you very much.
If, for understandable reasons, you can't get enough of Anneke's taste, then there is more good news: this one also runs near the popular Canggu airbnb.
