The time has come: Kleine Bes opens its doors in the Dapperbuurt (Amsterdam)
It took a while for this quirky (but incredibly fun) corner building on Mauritskade to find a new owner. With the team behind Café R. de Rosa's drive for expansion, a new venture in Oost was the icing on the cake. After crowdfunding, the doors are now open, and you can visit this wonderfully cozy spot five days a week.
This is exactly the kind of neighborhood spot that makes you happy. And it's located in the vibrant and increasingly popular Dapperbuurt neighborhood. It's almost as if there's a curse on this corner building, because all the other, albeit interesting, restaurant concepts that have been there before were doomed to fail. Although we think Kleine Bes will surely change that.
The doors open at ten o'clock in the morning, and coffee, fresh croissants, and pastries are ready. A small but delicious menu is available to order. Inside, it's small and cozy, with lovely blue walls. There's a snug bar and a variety of comfortable seating options (high, low, at the bar—plenty of options!). It feels a bit like a Dapperbuurt neighborhood living room—who wouldn't want to settle in there?
