THE PLAYING AREA, ROTTERDAM

Urban life is fun for kids, but even the most urban kiddos need to get really dirty sometimes. Let them loose in the Speeldernis. A wild natural playground in Rotterdam-West, where you can still cut your knee or get a splinter the old-fashioned way. The terrain is adventurously designed, full of hollow trees to crawl through, streams to make dams in, bushes to build huts, a campfire place to bake bread (for parties, because celebrating your birthday in the Speeldernis is also possible), and a really cool tepee to play or sleep in. Here and there are picnic tables where fathers and mothers can install themselves with a good book, a few liters of soda and a pack of plasters. Playtime
