De Tulp Amsterdam (de Pijp)
Garden after our hearts, the new The tulip in Amsterdam! Finally a really cheerful address where the best ones are not sparingly used tropical vibes (nor with beer, by the way). And above all: finally a good reason to go to it Marie Heinekenplein to go to the Pijp. In the middle of the square, a group of young, enthusiastic catering people opened their De Tulp with an important goal: to become the nicest garden in Amsterdam. It seems to be going well, as we can conclude from the fantastic opening party on July 6, when even the tropical Amsterdam storm that made the Brazilian dancers soaking wet did not destroy the atmosphere. Kudos.
It's really good to know that one of the men is also behind it Fishing... (side step: Pesca is definitely one of our rock hard fish favorites in the city. The reason Pesca is not in the Harper's Bazaar restaurant list The point - because that was not forgetfulness but a choice - is that we think the young 'loose' concept of the business is a little less suitable for Bazaar. But at Barts Boekje! We love Pesca, we do, that it's just as clear)... Where were we? Oh yes, Fishing. One of the men behind Vistheater Pesca was also involved in (the kitchen of) De Tulp. And that most likely means Asian swung on the menu. Asia meets Suriname? Seems beautiful to me. In any case, there is a party at De Tulp and we will enjoy the sunny weekend (again). Aloha, The Tulip!
