She may be the Butcher's Daughter, but this butcher shop also has many vegetarian and vegan options. Here you get meat from good sources - such as Brandt and Levie - and also many vegetarian options for the table during lunch or dinner. The display case is also always full of goodies for fully prepared drinks boards, tasty snacks for in between and evening meals that just need to be heated up. The Cooking Stove

The Cooking Stove

This deli and gift shop has been on the Wagenweg in Haarlem South for several years and was recently taken over by Charlotte and Steven, who prepare the tastiest, healthy takeaway meals. You can pick up the weekly changing menu in the store or have it delivered to your garden/wedding/company party. You can pick up the meals and soups for one person or the entire family. Some selections from recent menus: ravioli with ratatouille, fried cod with saffron and chicken in honey mustard sauce. It spontaneously makes us hungry.

Natural wine bar & Bistro South North

Natural wine bar & Bistro South North

Well, whether we have sensitive noses. A nose for good wine, yes. And to 'good' news in-town. We are excited when we can put both words in one sentence: a new (part one) wine bar (here it comes: part two:) in Haarlem.

This brand new wine bar was named South North. Why? We'll park that for a while, You can read the detailed report here. What you especially need to know is that nothing more than the most delicious glasses of organic wine are served and that you are really sitting there (in the conviviality of the city, but at a good corner away from the hustle and bustle and the tourist traps, let's call that bonus point part three). Three times 'win' is a charm? On to Natuurwijnbar & Bistro Zuid Noord in Haarlem! Also for takeaway, yes! Those deliciously filled bottles can simply be lugged into the bicycle basket and taken home. And while you're there, order your dinner immediately; After all, you can also get delicious dishes to pick up (or have delivered to your home).

But we'll leave it for a while so that Haarlem residents can get used to the fact that this nice little thing is gone. A delicatessen with French wines, cheeses, sweets. In a lovely corner of Haarlem, too. The French Sonja and Antoine rented a beautiful building and transformed it into a business that you cycle especially for. Or take a detour, because it's practically across the Spaarne at the Teylers Museum and you're there. Not to be missed, because the store is already a pearl from the outside thanks to the large renovated shop window full of goodies and the old letters above the facade. It's a shame it's gone.

Maroosh

Maroosh

We've been there many times and we usually leave with a large pile of delicious snacks. Usually, because sometimes everything was sold out before we even stepped foot over the threshold of this cozy corner building. We're talking about Maroosh, the sweet little shop on the Botermarkt that opened its doors in August and ever since ever – rightly so – you can count on a line out the door. Your absolute go to address for mezze and therefore rightly one of the wonderful Haarlem addresses to get delicacies for home.

Italian Osteria Piccolo

Italian Osteria Piccolo

Pontifical on the main market, with his nose almost on the St. Bavo Church; you walk Small just passed by. Although the image of addresses on the Grote Markt is not much to write home about, Piccolo is worth a try. If you have ever peered inside, you know: it promises good things (= tasty treats). Inside you enter a space that takes you, it seems, to Italian country for a moment. That turned out well, the copy of an Italian Osteria. Including beautiful wines, imported from the land of love. And a whole range of traditional southern Italian-regional specialties.

Grazie mielle, Piccolo!

Empanas Maxima

Empanas Maxima

Summery, fast, tasty and named after our own cuddly Argentinian: Empanadas Maxima. We gotta love the address on Damstraat (or on Saturdays at the Grote Markt). Here you can choose from seven empanada flavors (favorite: jamon y queso or pollo) with a portion of chimmichurri on the side. You can also go there for delicious (exciting) Argentinian wines and if you like it taste testing stores, you will also find a lot of other Argentinian snacks to taste.

The store

The store

From Argentina to Portugal! For the (originally Portuguese) owners of The store it was from Amsterdam to Haarlem. The business, under the name A loja, took up residence on the Anegang, where it exhibits the tastiest Portuguese delicacies. Yes, that also includes (note: homemade) pastels de nata. But also olive oil, canned fish, herbs and much more.

Sogno di Pasta

Sogno di Pasta

Sogno di Pasta is one that you don't easily pass by once you're in the area. The window is designed in such a way that it is difficult to walk through and inside you quickly realize how difficult it is to leave the store without making a purchase. In addition to truffle delicacies (yes, that gets a separate category), they also sell funghi porcini secchi, pomodori secchi, artichoke hearts in oil, anchovy fillet and risotto rice. So many Italian delicacies to choose from.

Straight from  Le Marche, Puglia, Calabria... Sogni di Pasta is working hard to sell the most beautiful products from every region in Italy in its Haarlem store. We don't have to go abroad for that anymore...
