Euro Pizza in Amsterdam North exceeds all expectations

Euro Pizza in Amsterdam North exceeds all expectations

You've seen Euro Pizza on several lists on our website, but it didn't have its own article anywhere. Because this particular place might need a little more explanation, here it is. The name Euro Pizza can be quite confusing. It sounds like a simple pizzeria, and if you look up the location on Google Maps, you might think it can't be a cozy place in that industrial area, but nothing could be further from the truth. Since its opening, this has been one of our top favorites and it truly never disappoints.

Once upon a time the guys behind Euroworld (Euro Pizza, Restaurant Europe & Benelux Bar) with their restaurant Europa in the HEM Museum in Zaandam. When it had to close due to COVID, they conjured up Euro Pizza. A culinary frozen pizza project that may have started temporarily, but has become a household name in Amsterdam since 2020. It's remarkable how, five years later, there's still a steady atmosphere with many fully booked slots, all in a warehouse across from a gas station.

Pizza Driven Winebar

Pizza Driven Winebar

A pizza-driven wine bar, that's how they originally introduced Euro Pizza, and looking back at what Euro Pizza actually does, that doesn't say enough. Sure, the atmosphere is wine bar-like, and the list of (natural) wines is extensive, but there's so much more to taste than just pizza. The snacks and small dishes change frequently, are original, and perfectly suited to the season. And after you've feasted on those smaller dishes, you move on to your main course: pizza, of course.

But not just any pizza. These sourdough pizzas are not only delicious, but also topped with the most unusual-sounding toppings that work incredibly well. Just two examples: Pizza Bologne with ragù royale, green chili, and comté cheese, or Spring Pie Pizza with white beans, velvety soubise, and wild garlic. That sounds more appealing than a Pizza Margherita or Pizza Peperoni. Don't feel like dining out or looking for some tasty comfort food to take home? Euro Pizza (still) has frozen pizzas that you can find at various places in Amsterdam (like Stach and Thull's), or have them delivered nationwide through Crisp. So there's no reason not to give Euro Pizza a try.
