Hotel Pillows Anna van den Vondel Amsterdam
Quite a mouthful for the tiny boutique hotel in Amsterdam that is Hotel Pillows Anna van den Vondel Amsterdam. Oh well, the place can bear its name with gusto. And how. In an elevated street between the Vondelpark and the Overtoom, you step through the heavy oak front door directly into a light marble hall that leads you to a pastel-colored lobby decorated with dark blue velvet armchairs and gold lamps. Rest. Pure tranquility. That's the first thing you notice. That, and the young, neat service single-handedly ensures that the aforementioned tranquility does not (at all) turn into stiffness. And that's great. Let's call it a homely rest. That enviable peace that you occasionally find in people who have everything so (irritatingly) well organized. Not at our house, but I do know those people. I'm sure you too. And so it is at Hotel Pillows Anna van den Vondel Amsterdam. Not. Away. At. Suddenly we were there. Because that peace is contagious, to say the least.

Work with a laptop in the restaurant, and especially in the secluded half-seats just behind the restaurant, which seem to be made for workmen using laptops who need to concentrate (or for couples in love who want to isolate themselves for a while), served at your beck and call by once again those excellent staff. And the rooms? The rooms are beyond lovely!
No excess here either, but once again that peace and quiet and with a little luck you will have a room with your own private terrace! These private terraces are adjacent to the cozy and sunny courtyard of the hotel - also recommended. The rain shower is wonderful, as are the products from our own Pillows Line.
The Pillows Anna van den Vondel chef cooks all day long from the small menu that includes, for example, a basket of dim sum and mini burgers, but it is the breakfast that you want to write home about: as relaxed as the hotel is, The breakfast is lavish and delicious. pillowshotels.com
