Hotel Flora

Hotel Flora

O boy, how we love a colorful, quirky cool hotel. And Hotel Flora fits exactly into that list. The hotel was designed and especially colored under the supervision of interior designer Gert Voormans. He turned the 15th-century merchant's house into a pearl of a boutique hotel with seven unique rooms - if you can fill all seven, then by all means hear the entire hotel; the dream! Color predominates throughout the hotel, and that is really delicious. Color, and art. In the form of paintings and sculptures, but also artist Nils Verkaeren locked himself behind the impressive doors of the centuries-old building for a few weeks to provide the walls and ceilings with his work. The rooms are all beautiful, although it is difficult to tear yourself away from the pink library, the exotic salon or the cute garden (room)... In any case, our enthusiasm is on. Hotel Flora

Hotel Pilar Antwerp 't South

Hotel Pilar Antwerp 't South

A hotel of which a number of rooms overlook the building, which has been renovated over many years Museum of Fine Arts In Antwerp? It has been located on Leopold de Waelplaats for a number of years now, one of the most attractive squares in the 't Zuid district (and that is impressive in a city where practically everything is impressive), a stone's throw from the cozy Marnixplaats (where café De Vitrine and restaurant Fiskebar are located, among others, both unmissable classics). That is true. And we only still want to check in at Hotel Pilar. when in Antwerp. Hotel Pilar is a young, contemporary, attractive and comfortable hotel and there are actually surprisingly few of those young and contemporary hotels in Antwerp. The hotel's rooms are sleek meets Antwerp. For example, the yellow tiles in the open bathrooms are according to your own specifications. Design from the two owners (Sam and Christophe, one an interior architect by profession, the other a born hospitality man – the perfect combination). Unique, therefore, and so beautiful.

Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp

Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp

When you think of the bustling center of Antwerp, you don't often think of a green oasis, a place where ultimate peace reigns. But amaiWell, it does exist! Hotel Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp is a five-star hotel in an old monumental monastery in a central yet hidden location in – surprise – the heart of Antwerp. A gift on all fronts. This fifteenth-century monastery still has many original features, such as old brickwork and wooden beams, after a major restoration project.

In every room or suite the historic style and character of the building can be seen. But this has been given a modern, timeless and luxurious look. Think of a minimalist interior with natural materials, earthy tones and gold accents. And a big plus: from the rooms you look out onto the green courtyard, an oasis of peace. A real one sanctuary!

Hotel August Antwerp

Hotel August Antwerp

August opened in the former Augustinian monastery in Antwerp, a 'contemporary retreat' as the owners themselves say. Either one special hospitality project with hotel, bar, restaurant, wellness and shop, designed by Vincent Van Duysen, run by the people behind boutique hotel Hotel Julien.

Do we have the 'who' (Vincent Van Duysen + the folks at Hotel Julien) and the 'what' (a lot), then the 'where' follows. Because that is also a nice one: the former Augustinian monastery, and therefore August, is located on the site of the former Military Hospital in Antwerp. In the Berchem district, now also called the Groenkwartier. Precisely. The Jane is also located there. Ball around.

Boulevard Leopold, a little outside the center

Boulevard Leopold, a little outside the center

Just off the paved paths of Antwerp, but a bit of cycling (walking is also fine) is another affordable favorite that competes with the men of De Witte Nijl: Boulevard Leopold. Also beautiful, but different. Here it is a bit back to the past, thanks to the grayed green one ton sur ton furnishing of a monumental building. Stuffed animals, plants everywhere, old mirrors and a variety of pots and pans to complete the set, a claw-foot bath of course and a couch. Fantastic.

Want to book with Barts Boekje extras? So it is possible and you can do it here: Boulevard Leopold

Yust Antwerp

Yust Antwerp

Yust is the place to be if, in addition to a weekend of shopping in Antwerp, you would also like to meet new people and discover food, art or music. Or if you just like exhibitions and inspiring lectures. The great thing about the concept of this hotel is that you choose how long you want to stay there – from a year to three days, everything is possible. The hostel and hotel are perfect for travelers, couples and family. And if after a few days totally in love are in Antwerp, you can stay in the flexible city loft (from 1 month to a year's stay). Yust is located in beautiful Berchem.

Sapphire House Antwerp

Sapphire House Antwerp

At Sapphire House Antwerp you go back into the history of the Golden Age. In a 16th-century building you can immerse yourself in a piece of Antwerp history. Not just any building, but Den Grooten Robijn,” referring to the long heritage in the gemstone trade that started in Antwerp in the 1500s.

At the Marriott Hotel you don't have to leave your hotel, in addition to approximately 139 rooms, you will also find a spa, gym and wellness, a cocktail bar and a gastronomic restaurant.

SHWAY, ANTWERP

SHWAY, ANTWERP

SHWAY has several nice apartments in Antwerp, three locations to be precise. All have their own charm, but all more handsome than handsome. SWAY28 has a tropical boutique style, with a homely character. SHWAY60 apartments are more industrial and further away it is here simplicity is key in combination with one old styleredone like atmosphere. The third apartment is modern with a mix of bold colors and wallpaper, yet the atmosphere of each studio has been preserved and that is what is so nice about these apartments.

Wonderful in Antwerp

Wonderful in Antwerp

You check in at the stately mansion called Zalig in Antwerp, in the middle of the city, a fifteen-minute walk from the station - that is doable. Inside it is an oasis of peace. And the house is beautiful, and gigantic. There are no fewer than five floors and you can stay there with up to ten people. These are just two families, or a cozy modern family. Please note: there is no elevator, so be prepared for some serious climbing. But there is plenty of room to retreat, to play hide and seek, or to watch a movie. The open kitchen and bar are furnished as a bistro-style dining room: as if you are out, but at home. Having to go to bed is no punishment for once, because the bunk beds are reminiscent of a modern version of the Flintstones caves. Yabadabadoe! And then we have only discussed one house, because there are two! The other house, also recommended, is suitable for fourteen people and can be found on Lange Ridderstraat. If you really can't get enough of owner Kathleen's taste (we understand): she also runs another number of houses in fashionable Knokke, Heist, Damme, Zoute and Blankenberge

SHWAY Maison Brederode Anvers

SHWAY Maison Brederode Anvers

Just across the slates from the southern center of Antwerp you will find SHWY's newest addition: the brand new Maison Brederode. A beautifully renovated mansion of no less than 250 square meters and for this reason alone the ideal location to rent the entire house. You can go to Maison Brederode with up to twelve people. The nice thing about this layout of the house: while the group chats downstairs at the table until the early hours, the kids take an afternoon nap upstairs undisturbed or you can retreat to your own apartment for a while. The interior is also beautiful: think beautiful rugs with mosaic, furniture from Fest Amsterdam, modern and cool posters on the wall, vintage textile lamps. Quiet, subdued with soft colors and pastel shades and an eye-catching detail here and there.

SHWAY Maison Brederode Anvers can certainly also be booked per room, but good accommodation for larger groups is sometimes quite difficult to find, so we are just extra happy with this.

Julien Hotel

Julien Hotel

Not a top 5 nomination (but that's personal) but certainly at number 6: Hotel Julien is a wonderful place in the heart of the city, close to the Groenplaats and the Cathedral. The courtyard and, above all, the spa with delicious products from Malin + Goetz in the vaulted cellar of the hotel are gifts.

Hotel Le Tissu, Zurenborg, just outside the center near the City Park (is good)

Hotel Le Tissu, Zurenborg, just outside the center near the City Park (is good)

Don't be fooled: Hotel Le Tissu may not be equipped with subway tiles and hanging plants, but it is a genuine accommodation gem in Antwerp. Located in Zurenborg, just outside the center near the City Park. Luxury, to die for and also affordable. Just imitate that.

Hotel Franq Antwerp, center

Hotel Franq Antwerp, center

Also a great tip is Hotel FRANQ, a luxurious boutique hotel with an excellent restaurant and bar in the heart of the city, a stone's throw from Our Lady's Cathedral and the Meir. There's a good chance that you will be immediately impressed upon entering: were we in Antwerp or Paris? The atmosphere is 'urban chic'. So from now on. With pink velvet and open spaces. Beautiful, just very beautiful.

u eat & sleep Antwerp, 't Eilandje

When we travel with our dog (and we love to do so), it is always a quest to find the best and fun places in the city. We have our regular addresses in Antwerp! The Soul is a regular fixture: affordable and a wonderful location in the middle of the South. B&B Koto is also fun, especially (especially!) for anyone with children. Or, and this is also a regular classic, Banks Hotel, around the corner from the nicest Vrijdagmarkt (where there is also an oyster bar BARDEAU sits). But we have a new one that has already trumped these three previous hotels three times: the hotel on 't Eilandje, opposite the Felix warehouses and right next to the MAS (museum aan de stroom). In a great and quiet location on the water you will find the hotel that does exactly what it should do: lovely rooms and very good service both. And meanwhile looking wildly attractive too.

Couche Couche, Antwerp Borgerhout

Couche Couche, Antwerp Borgerhout

The Borgerhout district used to be a postal code in Antwerp where you did not easily come, even as a tourist or day guest. But that is no longer the case! The neighborhood is now the nicest in the city, thanks to the Groenkwartier for example, the great PAKT gathering area. Anyway, back to Salon Couche Couche, Antwerp, a place to stay that was in Borgerhout long before it was hip. Perfect for with friends and/or a large family (the two rooms of Couche Couche can be linked together and then you have the entire building, or at least the entire house, to yourself).

Aplace

Aplace

A sum of positives: first of all, the location, more than central on a hidden yet lively square in the heart of Antwerp, the Vrijdagmarkt. You guessed it: there is a market here on Fridays. A unique auction market indeed and this since 1549! For the rest, this remarkable square is an oasis of conviviality and nice places and around the corner from the Groenplaats, the MoMu (fashion museum) and the Kloosterstraat, the nicest route to the Parisian 't Zuid district. Like this. Number two is the fact that the rooms and apartments are so uniquely decorated that you never want to leave. Everything is right – down to the smallest detail – instant happiness! Number three is the small scale of this establishment. aplace/antwerp has four units (two apartments and two suites) that are run with great care by the owner Karin.

Dogs are welcome (under certain conditions & on request).

Hotel Indigo Antwerp

Hotel Indigo Antwerp

But the handsome Indigo hotel club is also in Antwerp! You stay in the heart of the city, a stone's throw from the... Zoo and the Central Station (the first was completely renovated a few years ago and is highly recommended, the second, the station, is one of the most beautiful I know). Location top, candy colors top, decor top and just as important: the staff is nice and patient. In the brasserie are the signature dish of salmon and dill and the cheesecake with speculaas, both not to be missed! Not unimportant: with an average price of 125 euros per room per night, it is also one of the cheaper (attractive) hotels in the center of Antwerp.

Raphael Suites Antwerp

Raphael Suites Antwerp

We think Suite 2 of the Raphael Suites is the nicest of the two suites in the address. The City suite upstairs Bar Tabac Julien is an unknown pearl where you can find yourself very feels southern and completely 'of' Antwerp. The combination of the (already fantastic) tropical wallpaper, the colorful Designfurniture and the wonderful box spring is simple and yet perfect in a way that somehow never works at home. The French balconies overlook the busy shopping street and two floors lower you are in the heart of Antwerp. By the way, the other suite and the apartment may also be there.

Hotel 'T Sandt Antwerp

Hotel 'T Sandt Antwerp

An elegant 17th-century house in neo-rococo style has been transformed into a luxurious, contemporary hotel with no fewer than 29 rooms. The hotel is located in the heart of the historic center and close to the trendy South and the many restaurants. And when the weather is nice you can relax in the Italian courtyard and the terrace with a view of the cathedral. The rooms are furnished with contemporary comfort in mind.

BOUTIQUE HOTEL LIT D'ART

BOUTIQUE HOTEL LIT D'ART

Aida is the owner of the hotel. When this Art Nouveau mansion became available, she saw her opportunity. She dreamed of combining her passion for art, design and architecture and opening her own boutique hotel. And whether that worked! Even nicer that the building belongs to 'The five continents': the famous housetogether by architect F. Smet-Verhas. The building is therefore an architectural gem in an amazing location. You will find the hotel in the vibrant Het Zuid district of Antwerp, within walking distance of the Museum of Fine Arts.

Hotel O Kathedral

Hotel O Kathedral

You asked for a hotel with a view? We give you Hotel O Kathedral. Centrally located in Antwerp Center, opposite the Cathedral of Our Lady, where you also have a spectacular view from the romantic rooms. In addition, the hotel is 100 meters from the Groenplaats and the Grote Markt and within walking distance of other sights in Antwerp.

At the back of the hotel you will find the smaller single and double rooms. At the front of the hotel the somewhat more luxurious larger rooms. The rooms are spacious, with all the facilities you could wish for; from a rain shower, bath, lovely beds, nice soap from Nuxe, to earplugs next to the bed. Those plugs are not an unnecessary luxury, after all you are in the city center, with many restaurants and bars around the hotel.

The continental breakfast buffet is wonderfully extensive and open to both guests and non-guests and with nice weather you can sit on the terrace and enjoy breakfast, or drinks on the beautiful square. In short; a wonderful hotel in the heart of Antwerp.
