Hotels and houses in Madeira: all of them with a swimming pool

Madeira, Portugal's flower island, is known for its breathtaking landscapes, colorful flora and mild climate (even in winter the temperature often does not drop much lower than 15 degrees). This oh-so-beautiful destination offers a perfect mix of lush mountains, quaint villages and rugged coastlines. For those looking for a refreshing dip after a day of adventure, there are plenty of accommodations with pools that offer both luxury and comfort. Whether you choose a stylish hotel with panoramic ocean views or a charming holiday home surrounded by exotic gardens, Madeira has something for everyone.
A refreshing splash after a day of walking in Madeira is often exactly what you are looking for. And where should you walk? Walks in Madeira!

The Views Baia, Funchal

The Views Baia, Funchal

Nestled in the hills of Funchal, and therefore with beautiful views, you will find The Views Baia Hotel. Nice and central (you have to go up the hill when you walk back, but that was very doable), lush plants and flowers, and with a swimming pool where you can cool off on warmer days. There is also a bar at that pool, so a 'quick splash' could easily take a while. You will also find a gym (with a view that you certainly won't find in every gym), the rooms are spacious and with really nice beds plus the breakfast is really extensive. Very nice place to play Funchal. The in-house restaurant Disarm has been awarded a Michelin star in 2024, so if you could reserve a place there, we would say: go for it!

Also very nice: The Views Baia has its own parking spaces, and if you come with your own rental car, it is convenient.

Quinta do Furão

Quinta do Furão

Quinta do Furão stands on a cliff at Achada do Gramacho in Santana, on the northeast coast of Madeira. It is a hotel with a good restaurant (also a lot of choice for vegetarians), great views, and they have their own vineyard: fantastic place! You can (fortunately!) also have lunch or dinner at the restaurant if you are not staying there. The people behind Quinta do Furão organize all kinds of fun activities, such as a poncha (local drink) workshop, bread baking, botanical tours, yoga and wine tastings. If you let us know in time, you can also participate as a non-hotel guest and then you can enjoy an afternoon of lunch and wine tasting at Quinta do Furão in one go. Not bad at all.

You can also sleep at Quinta do Furȁo. Even the simple rooms are beautiful, all with views over the sea and cliffs plus the pool is in the middle of the vineyard. Now you again.

Three House Hotel, Funchal

Three House Hotel, Funchal

Located in a 50-year-old art deco-style shopping mall, there you will find Three House Hotel, near the Mercado dos Lavradores. Towering above Funchal and with the most beautiful view of the city. With a drink in your hand and feet in the water, you can enjoy the vibrant life around the hotel, the sea and mountains from the swimming pool. But still on one peaceful way. Sounds good, right? Oh yes, also quite nice: there is a gym, a TV with Netflix, a cocktail bar and a super good restaurant. So you certainly don't have to go far, but you can. The rooftop bar is beautiful, but also a bit dated swanky: think bottle service of people with just too much aftershave and self-confidence. The swimming pool is on the same floor, but only for hotel guests, so you can keep an eye on the swanky people from just the right distance.

Quinta da Moscadinha, Camacha

Quinta da Moscadinha, Camacha

First: the pool! A beautiful light blue swimming pool between the green trees of this characterful B&B. It is located a bit from Funchal, 15 minutes to be precise (about 14 euros with Bolt). So you can relax there, but lively Funchal is close by. Best of both worlds, even if we say so ourselves. They also have chickens, dogs, sheep and goats hopping around here. Pleasant! The owners do their utmost to make you feel at home; they will bring you breakfast including eggs from their own chickens. Already booking? We get it. There is a choice of eleven rooms, so it is also a good place if you are looking for something for a larger group.
