House of Leo: hidden gem in Haarlem for beautiful vintage

Time seems to pass us by, but within House of Leo In Haarlem time seems to have stood still for a very long time. A historic building where you can find the most beautiful items, such as furniture, crockery or clothing thrift shopping. So no old stuff, but beautiful finds: from paintings to ceramics to wall hangings. The vintage treasures have been collected with love. The happy faces and the enthusiastic cheering of the visitors, that is what owner Leonie Mooren does it for.

 

House of Leo is only open on the first and third Saturday of the month (and then there is also tea and cake).

An old building in the center of Haarlem, very beautiful. Leonie Mooren proudly rents the old Fabel building at the Begijnhof. With a background as a stylist, she has furnished the building with all her collected finds. While creating this creative workplace, she kept the building completely intact. The horses' feeding troughs are still completely untouched in the stable, and the cracks and holes in the building also reveal that it has been here for some time. The building screams and squeaks vintage, and that is exactly what is for sale.

Not only vintage pearls can be purchased here, the building is also available to rent for a cool photo shoot, exhibitions or other events. A building is naturally very photogenic (with natural light, the furnishings and the interior), so it is not very difficult to take a nice snapshot here.

House of Leo is only open to a limited extent: only the first and third Saturday of the month (or by appointment: can be reached via houseofleo.nl or via Instagram: @houseofleo_creativestudio). With that wonderful enthusiasm, attention and pleasure, the owner will do her best to make a 'quick' trip to the vintage store an experience. Because if you think you can just pop in here quickly and then move on, you're completely wrong. Have a cup of tea, candles on, there is music in the background. Conviviality is paramount, because according to Leonie, a visit to the Fabel building should become a memory, just like the memories that the old building has to tell.

Too bad for us that Leonie is only open twice a month, because it is certainly a treat to go there.
