New in Breda: Il Limone
We had been looking forward to it for months: the opening of Il Limone in Breda. After years of success with The Truffle in Delft, the Sicilian father and daughter, Fabio and Chiara, decided to enrich Breda with a new Italian business. Through nice impressions of the atmosphere, sneak peeks of the renovation and competitions, the arrival of Il Limone was loudly announced on Instagram, and of course we became very curious. And now the time has come: Il Limone has opened its doors at the Wilhelmina Street in Breda. It's Italian (delicatessen) shop, caterer and Tavern. This means that you can pick up delicacies and ready-made dishes here, but also have a bite to eat on site.
When you walk into Il Limone, your eyes are immediately drawn to the well-stocked display cases full of Italian delicacies, such as anti pasti, cheeses and meats. Father and daughter have selected these products themselves from small family businesses and, as true Italians, we trust that they know better than anyone else what tastes good. The proscuitto di parma was one that only tastes so good in Italy. At Il Limone they also prepare fresh ready-made dishes for takeaway, such as pasta, vegetable dishes and desserts (yes, the pistachio here too cannoli). Nice and easy for home use.
You can take a seat and eat something on the spot at the back of the restaurant. Even though we are fans of picking up fresh products and the nice shop, we noticed that they still had to find their way in the osteria. Due to the crowds, the service seemed a bit chaotic, the music was difficult to understand and there were quite a few tasty dishes on the menu, which is a shame! We also understand that you are looking for a new business and will try again in a while. For now we say: walk by Il Limone in Breda to take a look and possibly pick up something tasty!
