Just outside the ring of Utrecht there is a traditional, inconspicuous greenhouse from the outside, The Greenhouse Eating & Growing Place as it is called. The idea: food straight from the greenhouse, everything on your plate. But that is just one of the advantages of De Kas: all meals are prepared with and inspired by the vegetables and herbs that are blooming at that moment, in the natural way. That makes for surprising combinations (because the chefs obviously do not cheat). In addition, believe us, the daylight (and later the setting sun) that shines through the glass of the greenhouse is beautiful. Spectacular even. All vegetables are also for sale, by the way, but it would be a shame not to book a table. Or to join one of the small musical events or film nights. De Kas Eet & Kweekplek came with a concept that takes bio greenhousing to a whole new level. Eating right by the source is just one of the experiences this little greenhouse provides. The meals are prepared with plants grown there at that particular time of the year, naturally. Believe us, the light coming through the glass of the greenhouse during sunset shining onto the one big family-style table, is quite spectacular. The veggies are also for sale during week's opening hours. However, it is the small music events and movie nights with mobile moped cinema that make this place so unique as it combines the - what would seem - incombinable.
