New favorite in the Amsterdam Jordaan: restaurant La Fiorita Amsterdam
Where La Perla is already on two sides of the street, the owner of the pizzeria-plus also bought the adjacent building of the 'main restaurant' where Burger's Patio was housed for no less than 33 years. It's gone, not for a year. Nothing was there for long, but now - Team La Perla sticks to its guns - a new Italian arrives: La Fiorita Amsterdam
Not just any Italian, as we now know. No no, restaurant La Fiorita In terms of look & feel, there is definitely one of the school, which also includes Lille, Enterpot, Toscanini (you have them again), Scheepskameel, De School and actually all our favorite restaurants of the moment accessories.
Our new favorite Italian in the Jordaan? Yes. That was long La Perla (for the tastiest pizza, a door further), and the ice creams from Mount Pelmo, also in Tweede Tuindwarsstraat, are also participating. There is of course Toscanini (but we really made a few mistakes there) and let's especially highlight the new restaurant Domenica do not flatten out – also really very nice and good. Why so enthusiastic about it? La Fiorita? Well, in the short time that the place has been open, we have already joined 3 times, 2 of which were spontaneous. And our love, as is often the case, is not only in the food at an address, but especially in the cordiality on site. At La Fiorita there is always a kind word and the effort to create a spot, even if only for a while. You had us at hello so to speak, also extremely important in 2019.
Although the food must of course also be good. And the atmosphere. And the looks (the business, and especially the logo that appears on the floor and in the wine glasses, is beautiful!). And the acoustics have to be right. And the wines. And at the end of the evening we always hope that we don't have to eat dry bread for the rest of the week. Well: that's all at La Fiorita (we paid just under 100 for a starter, a main course and a bottle of wine. That's fine). But of course we also want to eat very well. And so it happened. The carpaccio is buttery soft and we often want it. The burrata… Oh the burrata. You can stick it on your hips just like that, so well. And then that eggplant... Soft and yet with an unmissable look bite (as you call it). I can go on about that for a long time, but the fact is that the menu is constantly changing, and it is of course a shame if your mouth is watering and you come home from a cold fair. That will not be the case with the wines: they always have them. Take it from me, even if you are a white wine drinker (okay, you can start with the fresh Riesling): order the Terre Nere. A very light red that is both fresh and soft and that you can safely drink slightly chilled. Delicious with everything. O! Guard. Stop: cross your fingers that risotto is on the menu. We always find it tasty, but usually a bit too heavy. Not in the case of La Fiorita: it is airy and light. O! Wait stop again: the desserts! The pannacota and especially the chocolate mousse and most of all the brownie. Okay. I stop.
