Maybe - we don't make any firm statements - there will be a new healthy favorite place to start the day in Haarlem: Mica. Because of the coffee, but also because of the simple and healthy breakfast (no frills, that makes a difference). The coffee bar in Kleine Houtstraat has an equally simple, Scandinavian interior: white walls, wooden chairs, gray and soft pink and a green plant here and there to brighten things up. If you're lucky, the bench at the front of the shop will be free, the most comfortable spot in the shop. Or one of the high chairs by the window where you can sit and gaze outside. There is an extensive coffee menu - with espressos, cappuccinos, cortados, flat whites and more. Not much of a coffee person? The juice with carrot, apple and ginger is also worth trying. For breakfast you can choose from three different yogurt-granola-or-preferably-oatmeal combinations. Or, if you're not into all those healthy things; a slice of banana bread (so delicious!) or a croissant. Mica
