Move Lab Kids Expo: the most fun interactive family outing in Amsterdam South

For those looking for an original, active, and educational outing with the whole family, is Move Lab The Stadionplein (right next to the Olympic Stadium) is the recommended spot. Here, children aged 6 to 12 dive right into the world of cars, bicycles, and mobility. In this 'laboratory,' sitting still is not an option. Everything here revolves around designing, experimenting, and playing.

And there is good news! From now on, the Move Lab is even more complete. Young kids aged 4 and 5 can also let loose at their own level with life-sized building blocks and a 10-meter-long marble run. While the kids discover how mobility shapes our daily world, parents/guardians can feast their eyes on the unique Porsche models, the life-sized LEGO Porsche, and artworks by Ichwan Noor and others, or join in the fun to build the fastest car.

Honestly? You have to experience Move Lab. We can explain whatever we want (and we will – wait for it), but still: experiencing it is much better. But okay, here it comes. The idea is that kids in Move Lab pass through two dynamic zones within 1 to 1.5 hours. These are:

  • 1 Zone – The Making Of. Here you delve deeper into the technology and history of mobility, and kids get hands-on with design. How do you make the fastest car? And how do you go from moodboard to design?
  • 2 Zone Streetwise: Here, it's all about urban mobility. How do you navigate city traffic quickly, smartly, and safely? Test your reflexes or experience your very first driving lesson in a simulator!

And there's more! In addition to the permanent exhibition, Move Lab also has a rotating program of special events. During school holidays, Move Lab is open all week and offers cool workshops. on the agendaFor example, there are technology activities or creative challenges that go just a little further than a typical museum visit. Do you want to make your child's birthday truly special? Then the Move Lab children's party is highly recommendedYou celebrate this on Saturday or Sunday at Move Lab itself. Afterwards, the festive closing follows at De Drie Graefjes—you know, one of the best cake bakeries in the city—where you and the group can choose a Move Lab cake or cupcakes and unlimited lemonade and water.

Move Lab is located at Stadionplein 28 and is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10.00am to 17.00pm. Tickets are available through the usual channels.
