Move Lab: the interactive family outing at Stadionplein, Amsterdam (South)
Can we talk about Move Amsterdam for a moment? (read here more). Yes, we think so. Because we really have to Move Lab Highlighting Move Amsterdam, a unique, completely renovated exhibition for children between 6 and 12 years old. But certainly also for fathers, moms and other grown-up stuff who like racing and playing games.
Move Lab is designed like a real laboratory where you can discover and do things. Build your own car, experiment with gravity, draw a car and bring it to life with AI, take your first driving lesson (laughs!), and try out lots of racing simulators. Is that fun? Just ask those little ones (and the big ones) after you've been... The exhibition is upstairs, but also plan plenty of time for the downstairs room, which features a retro gaming cabinet, table tennis, and an F1 racing simulator. A fantastic playtime for all ages.
Honestly? You have to experience Move Lab. We can explain whatever we want (and we will – wait for it), but still: experiencing it is much better. But okay, here it comes. The idea is that kids in Move Lab pass through two dynamic zones within 1 to 1.5 hours. These are:
- 1 Zone – The Making Of. Here you delve deeper into the technology and history of mobility, and kids get hands-on with design. How do you make the fastest car? And how do you go from moodboard to design?
- 2 Zone Streetwise: Here, it's all about urban mobility. How do you navigate city traffic quickly, smartly, and safely? Test your reflexes or experience your very first driving lesson in a simulator!
- the unofficial zone downstairs: the “games room” that brings so much fun.
And there's more! In addition to the permanent exhibition, Move Lab also has a rotating program of special events. During school holidays, Move Lab is open all week and offers cool workshops. on the agendaThere are technology activities or creative challenges that go a little further than an average museum visit.
