New: wine bar and brusschetaria Verde Marrone Utrecht
Let it be clear: here at Bart HQ we love Utrecht, even though the city in the middle of the country often seems to be snowed under by all the news from Amsterdam. And from Rotterdam. And The Hague also passes by regularly. But the lovely Utrecht is in our hearts, although we often visit our regular favorites there - we are only human. Although nowadays there is also the new Street Food Club at mag! (you can read about that here) and since June 6 also wine bar and brusschetaria Verde Marrone!
He sits at the Donkere Gaard, Verde Marrone, at number two and the small business (one person out of 50 can fit in) is run by the owner of that other oh-so-fine Utrecht wine bar Talud 9. So they are wine connoisseurs, and you can taste it. The menu features numerous well-chosen, fresh and often surprising wines (let the staff decide for you!) and a variety of equally fresh and surprising (tastes like summer in Italy – really) bruschettas.
The shop is attractively decorated with wooden shutters, plants and bird nests that smell of Italy. Olive green on the wall, bottles of water ready and the tables nicely pushed together. Three guesses where we will sit next time.
