Starting Monday, November 17, 2025, it's Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned Week, a week that was anything but 'old fashionedDuring this week, you can (re)discover just how timeless the Old Fashioned cocktail truly is across the country, and numerous bars will be experimenting with this premium bourbon whiskey.
During the Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned Week You can try classic and new variations of the Old Fashioned at more than 40 bars throughout the Netherlands. You can judge for yourself just how innovative a classic can be (spoiler: completely revamped!). Even more fun: three top Dutch chefs give their twist on the Old Fashioned. Sidney Schutte (Spectrum**), Floris van Straalen (From East) and Dirk Mooren (Verlan, Mata Hari) created based on their signature a culinary twist on the cocktail. Try their recipe or one of the other creative twists on the Old Fashioned at one of the 40 participating bars.

Where are we going? Glad you asked! In Amsterdam, the Vesper Bar Always a good idea. And this week even more so, thanks to Jules Bayuni, who flavors his Old Fashioned with memories of his family from Jakarta. Rice fields and street food stalls resonate in aromas of toasted rice, pandan, and cloves. The Hague Old Fashioned is on the menu at NJOY: The Hague Hopjes here for inspiration! A butter washed Bourbon combined with hop syrup and walnut bitters. Also a good idea: Tales & Spirits, hidden in the heart of Amsterdam. Here the bartenders reminisce about how they used to chew on a piece of licorice while playing. Their Rooted in Time plays with the flavors of licorice. While the Italian bartenders in The Tailor Bar with Scillian Pride adding the spicy flavours of their homeland by using rosemary, among other things.
Plus: three top chefs – Sidney Schutte, Floris van Straalen and Dirk Mooren – are collaborating this year with top bartenders Ignazio Di Gangi (The Vault Bar), Nick Vrielink (Fitz's Bar) and Tim Lefevre (Door74) to create a Chef's Old Fashioned. At Fitz's Bar, the signature Floris van Straalen's langoustine is the inspiration for the Old Fashioned. And at The Vault Bar, Sidney Schutte has a cocktail based on his signature dish with duck on the menu. The Chef's Old Fashioneds can only be ordered during Old Fashioned Week in the respective bars and restaurants.
During Old Fashioned Week there are various events and international guest shifts.On November 20, the team of Bar Cham from Seoul (No. 52 World Best Bars) to Amsterdam to Sins or Sal to take over a shift.
