Have breakfast (and lunch) in The Hague many times

Actually, breakfast is our favorite meal of the day. Wake up with good coffee or fresh orange juice. And depending on our appetite, a healthy acai bowl, well-fried eggs or pancakes. After a delicious breakfast, the rest of the day is a party. We make a list of many times to have breakfast (where you can actually always have lunch) in The Hague. You can choose yourself  whatever you fancy.

Plenty

We'll start with pretty. And vegan. Because that is Plenty in the nicest street in The Hague, the Piet Heinstraat. Plenty opened in the spring of 2019. And it is stunningly beautiful and mouth-wateringly delicious. Ok, provided it suits your taste of course. Do you like healthy and plant-based? A cinnamon roll and spelled pancakes for breakfast? And lunch in the afternoon with a Mediterranean twist? Then you will be very happy at Plenty.

Candy cane pink, mint green, milkshakes and a touch of disco. That's Confetti in a nutshell. It is sometimes a bit sweet - you have to like it - but scrambled eggs on toast are also on the menu. Definitely a nice place to settle down after a day of shopping and just need a pick-me-up. Because the cakes and coffee are highly recommended.

There is a bookstore in the middle of Noordeinde. Beautiful with classic cupboards along the walls and an old-fashioned staircase if you want to see the top books. They have a nice terrace both in front of the shop - with an oblique view of the Palace - and behind the shop in the garden. And a conservatory where you can enjoy breakfast or lunch. Among the smell of new books. We like it.

We previously called it 'a breakfast concept in the city'. Boulangerie Michel is a bakery plus. So bread products and nice seating. Nothing is as good as the smell of artisanally baked bread. And we haven't even started talking about the delicacies from the pastry shop.

Haley's Comet Breakfast Club

Haley's Comet Breakfast Club

You can't have a much clearer breakfast affair. Haley's Comet's interior is striking. A modern version of a classic 80s shop. A mix of stark white, neon and retro games. No fuss on the menu: 3 eggs, 3 pancakes and 3 cereals. Possibly with milkshakes, an ice cream float and cappuccino with marshmallows. And all that in a nice laid-back atmosphere.

Pistachio Cafe

Pistachio Cafe

Not to be confused with the nice hotel Pistache. They are in a completely different location and - apart from the fact that they are both in The Hague - they have nothing to do with each other. Pistachio Café is located on a sweet corner opposite the entrance to the Palace Garden. The anthracite facade and Scandinavian green interior immediately create a nice atmosphere. The menu includes healthy, organic dishes such as almond-oatmeal waffles, an acai bowl and an egg prepared to your liking. Also a whole range of sandwiches with avocado, lime cheese, a mambo sandwich – no idea! – and more. On a sunny day you can sit outside. Not bad either.

Koffiebar Eef is located in another nice street in The Hague – Weimarstraat, with several nice shops. Where you will immediately feel at home here. Nice young people and the occasional stray neighborhood elder. Where groups of friends who live nearby meet up to discuss their adventures of the week. Without too much frills. Nice and low key and cozy. The menu is ditto. A croissant, yoghurt or toast with egg. A selection of tasty toasted sandwiches and some sandwiches and soup. Wonderful for those days when you want less hysteria.
