Parc Extraordinary: a hidden secret in the wine region of North Limburg
You will find Parc Buitenzaam in an extraordinary place in North Limburg, hidden in the green. The perfect setting for a week of camping in your own country. In this beautiful place you can choose camping plus (glamping it is) in one of the ten (yes, the choice is huge) unique accommodations. With private bathroom. And a heater. And hot tub. It doesn't get any cozier.

Where the old Rhulenhof exhibition garden used to be - a household name in the region - the small-scale garden is now located Parc Extraordinary. Near Ottersum and against the German border, in a - as we might call it - beautiful, small village and nature reserve. The site has all kinds of special places where owners Bas and Bernadette have lovingly placed the lovely houses and tents and where they use the beautiful elements that were already present in the exhibition garden. Do you sleep in a pod, dome or teepee? Then you sign up for a slow start in silence (just the two of you) and with a view over the fields and the forest. If you are with more people, choose the most unique accommodation in the park: the Orangerie. A glass greenhouse of 450m2 where you can warm up cozy around the wood stove.
There is an extensive breakfast service every day (or go for a 'breakfast in the meadow' with the alpacas, yuck!), so no reason to rush. You will only wake up to the whistling birds and nothing else: here peace and quiet are the order of the day. Exactly what everyone needs sometimes. On weekend evenings you can join us for a very good dish of the day (Bas was a chef in a previous life and you can taste that) and at any time of the day the Limburg pie, with a cup of coffee of course, is ready on the terrace. Exactly as hospitality should be. Fancy a bit of action and sportiness? Grab the kayak and go on the river Niers or cycle to a wine tasting (do it!). It is a stone's throw away and is known as the wine region of North Limburg (and far beyond). No surprise: you will find a number of fine wineries here. Sit down at a vineyard and cheers to the good life.
Let's talk about those accommodations because boy, are they nice. Since we embraced camping, we have absolutely loved the glamping concept. And if the place is also as picture perfect as at Parc Buitenzaam, then you've got us. The Sunfield Tipi with wood stove in particular scores points, but we would actually pack our bag for all these glamping spots and drive towards the sunny south. This is a good time, because a quick look at the calendar shows us that there are still places for the rest of the summer. On to Limburg.
