Sleep and eat in Amsterdam's Oosterpark at the brand new Pillows Hotel Maurits At The Park
You can always wake us up for a night in a Pillows Hotel. Apparently we are not the only ones who think this way, because the chain continues to grow. Next to one dreamlike castle in Baarlo and beautiful hotels in Ghent en Brussels (among other things, they have more!) it is now also the brand new Maurits At the Park in Amsterdam's Oosterpark. An old university building on Mauritskade was renovated for five years and opened in November 2022 Pillows Maurits At The Park its doors. yes yes yes. Finally a Pillows Hotel in our own Amsterdam.
In addition to sleeping wonderfully, you can also enjoy dining here. Fine dining at VanOost Restaurant or join us Spring Cafe Brasserie. Where you end the evening is a simple one-two punch: in Fitz's Bar.
Pillows Maurits At The Park is just like her sisters Ghent en Baarlo housed in a beautiful building. A former university building from 1908, to be precise. Where the lecture halls used to be, there are now super deluxe five-star suites. That comes with quite a hefty price tag, but then you get something. A grand piano in your room, for example. Throughout the hotel you will find art by Gustav Klimt, Pablo Picasso, Constant and Jasper Krabbé, among others. The rooms themselves contain work by artist Raphaël Hermans, inspired by the local flora and fauna, which he created especially for the hotel. Not only is it wonderful to stay inside, it is also great outside. You can roll straight from your bed into the Oosterpark and with a few extra somersaults you are in the city.
To sleep? You don't even get around to that. You will also find one in the hotel private guest lounge, urban spa and state of the art gym. You don't even have to leave the house for a good meal or drink. You can eat at fine dining restaurant VanOost or Spring Cafe Brasserie. The latter has a lovely terrace with an open aviary and is also accessible from the park. Every evening à la roaring twenties To conclude, a cocktail at Fitz's Bar or on the rooftop should not be missed.
We already predict that the terrace of Spring Café Brasserie in Maurits at the Park is the new summer hotspot. A large terrace in French brasserie style overlooking the park, the sun is shining and the wine list is great. But anyway, first winter and therefore inside! Through the large glass front you still have that view (until it gets dark of course) and after that it is super cozy inside. They have brought a piece of the park inside: in the middle of the restaurant there is a large tree stealing the attention. The interior is calm with lots of natural colors and the menu is brasserie but with that touch of Pillows. They have a really good steak tartare, with crystal bread that actually fits better than a piece of toast. You could have eaten the classic melanzane parmigiana in Italy and the all day snacks are also a reason to just sit down at noon and fill the table with all kinds of things (don't forget the focaccia with l'Etivaz cheese cream, it is fluffy and crunchy and salty and very very good).
