Speaking of Utrecht… Brass restaurant is the place to go

Now this place is certainly a piece of cake for the Utrecht connoisseur or resident, but we, Amsterdam Brabanders, recently came across restaurant (and hotel) Brass for the first time and were quite pleasantly surprised! What a nice, comfortable, bullshit-free place! A wonderful restaurant that does what it's supposed to do (and very well) with a number of stunning bedrooms above it. A bit like they do so well in England (read: The Cotswolds), but 'normal' in Utrecht. Anyway, you understand: Brass restaurant, that's the place to be in Utrecht.

Restaurant Brass Utrecht

Restaurant Brass Utrecht

First the restaurant: in a slightly classic, slightly modern (yes, that's possible: muted green tones on the walls, long leather sofas and shiny bulb lamps do the trick) that you will find between the always nice Voorstraat and the Janskerk, French and Italian classics served that are slightly different than usual. With Eastern influences, for example. And no, that will surprisingly not be a colorful fair. Start with the oyster tasting in advance and let the rest of the evening take over you, not least with regard to the wines: at Brass they love wine and the very friendly hostess is happy to advise you.

Now that we think about it, we think Brass might just be Utrecht's best-kept secret. Nice and central, but still very sheltered, which makes it feel a bit like a mini vacation (which becomes completely true when, for convenience, after dinner you also move into one of the beautiful hotel rooms, and the next day you easy going may begin). The restaurant can perhaps best be described as the living room of owners Sidney and Maartje (what in a name). Friendly, cozy, homely. But tasty. Always tasty. And that name? This comes from the aforementioned large round lamps in copper color (brass) above the tables.

Did you need another reason to make a reservation? No, right? Let's go!
