We can't possibly choose which of the Wadden Islands is our favorite, although Terschelling definitely in the top five ;-). And there's a lot happening on the island! In fact: Terschelling is well on its way to becoming foodies to become the destination of the Netherlands. The arrival of Aest contributes to this, and the opening of the first Dutchen Hotel, Elements. And in the latter, a restaurant will also open in early 2026, for which we've already booked a return ticket to Terschelling: Restaurant Dún, Terschelling. Where does the excitement come from? Because it's Chef Richard van Oostenbrugge's first non-Amsterdam restaurant. The man behind establishments like @restaurant.212 ⭐️⭐️  @bistrodelamerams ⭐️  @de_juwelier_amsterdam ⭐️ and The MarkRight on the Wadden Sea and the Boschplaat nature reserve, the main source of inspiration for the menu, according to Richard (we can call him Richard).

With Dún, Richard van Oostenbrugge aims to create a more down-to-earth yet avant-garde concept. Creative, seasonal dishes that reflect the island's nature. Okay, that's fine.

Dún aims to be a place where guests can enjoy the island's tranquility and space, combined with a contemporary culinary experience. It opens in January 2026. See you there.
