A new restaurant has landed and has already opened: Satkara is the name. Satkara is derived from the Sanskrit word Satkar, which stands for attention, respect, honor, and hospitality. It will therefore come as no surprise that Indian food is cooked here, but with a twist: Nepalese cuisine also plays a leading role. And all of this is presented in a fine dining-put on a jacket.

Behind the scenes, the concept was worked on for no less than two years, and now India and Nepal are finally coming together under one Amsterdam roof. In the kitchen, the backgrounds and culinary traditions of both countries are interwoven, with a key role for the tandoor (a traditional clay oven), among other things. On the menu, you can choose between à la carte or opt for a more elaborate pampering experience.

And it doesn't stop at the plate. The cocktail menu also draws on the flavors and spices from both cuisines. This theme is beautifully continued in the interior with references to the five elements: earth, fire, air, water, and space.
