Sea Salt Saloon, Utrecht
Sometimes we are a little more excited about a newcomer than usual, and lately the enthusiasm has surprisingly often been brought back to Utrecht. Maybe because there was/is 'less'? Maybe because the people of Amsterdam often fish from the same pond? Who knows. The fact is that on January 5, the Sea Salt Saloon opens in the heart of Utrecht (that's right, the heart of Utrecht, nice and clear) on the Wed, a small, handsome street and most likely a ditto business. So the Sea Salt Saloon, and they promise us the Better Fish. And Drink. And stories. We supplement the latter ourselves, but for the menu with, among other things, 'thick shrimp croquettes (with no less than 127 Dutch shrimps in 1 croquet, the men shout from the rooftops) and Belgian wheat beer', the platter with sardines, salmon, spicy scampi , shrimps, rollmops, eel, mackerel and langoustine (1 platter but you pay per person), fish soup, lobster and sea bream, we wanted to join us yesterday. But do we have to wait until January 5th? Who makes the above promise? 2 men who learned the chef's trade, together, at renowned restaurants such as the Marienhof and Wilhelminapark, who then went their own way and now work together again in the Sea Salt Saloon "to let you enjoy the best of fish, shellfish and shellfish without any fuss or fuss".
