Fairytale wonderland Enkhuizen
We are a bit skeptical about these amusement parks for the mini. Fair's fair. But this one can still be added to the winners list. Why? Firstly, because Sprookjeswonderland Enkhuizen is anything but hysterical, but has a nice small-scale design. In addition, it is also a small party for parents because there is a lot that the little ones can do themselves. So you don't have to participate in every activity (but you are allowed of course). An entrance ticket is remarkably affordable and you can park here for free. This is different at the larger parks.
Enkhuizen is the place where you can navigate, just under an hour from Amsterdam. This summer you can buy your ticket in advance online so that you are assured of a time slot (of arrival - you can stay as long as you want) on a certain day. Little insider tip; drink your coffee at home or somewhere along the way because in the Fairytale Wonderland they don't serve a very good cup of coffee (oh, we are so spoiled). We would also have preferred to have the information earlier 😉
Upon arrival you are immediately enchanted: a beautiful courtyard with old Dutch houses. Grab a map if you want to check off all the activities or just start wandering around. There are the cutest ladybugs (who still has an old photo lying around?) that go over a water track. They can enter themselves, all you have to do is wave from the sidelines. And cars that the little ones can 'really' steer and drive. One hundred laps in a row.
You can also do a tour of the fairytale forest. No peeling paint or dated scenes, but beautiful fairytale houses that each tell their own story. The kids are included in every fairy tale. Apart from the above spectacle, there is a lovely large playground and even a petting zoo. So you can get through the day here; a great activity for a sunny holiday day.
