Vin Fou: new French spot on JP Heijestraat, Amsterdam (opening September 2026)
The Jan Pieter Heijestraat in Amsterdam aka the gift that keeps on givingKeep on giving it your all. This hospitality street in Oud-West is getting another brand-new gem in September 2026: Vin Fou at number 143. Behind Vin Fou is a local celebrity: Angelo Kremmydas, also the man behind neighbor favorite Gitane, a few doors down at number 146, and the lovely Massalia in Oost. Good people.
Great name, too! It comes from a French sparkling wine from the Jura, and Vin Fou is going to be a small restaurant with a French soul—that’s the idea. No endless, generic menu, but rather nice and compact, with a changing daily special every day. Exactly how we like it.
And the best part: the promise is something delicious for every budget. From a glass of fine wine to a surprisingly good non-alcoholic selection. Oh, and Vin Fou is (pay attention!) open every day of the week. Hallelujah.
For the observant viewer: CoffeeRoastery was indeed located in this building for years. Add Vin Fou to Gitane, Massalia, and his new one. stick bar Parea in De Pijp, and Angelo's counter will soon be at four. Cheers!
