It was the first wine bar in Utrecht and it is still a very good wine bar WineWine. In a small, nondescript street, opposite the busy Neude square (in the heart of... Utrecht), is VinVin. The wine bar is small and cozy - with wooden benches in the front where you can spend the entire evening with a bottle of wine on the table. It's best to sit at the bar with two people, where the men and women of VinVin will tell you everything about the wines on the menu. VinVin has about twenty open wines, which you can choose from yourself, but you can also leave it to the bartender (or woman). Bonus points for the two cheese boards on the menu - one for red wine drinkers and ditto for white wine lovers. Also nice: in addition to the regular wine tasting (which you can only do for groups of eight people or more), you can do an 'open tasting' at VinVin every first Sunday of the month, if there are just the two of you.
