WT Urban Cafe & Kitchen, Utrecht

You may not have known, but WT, from the brand new WT Urban Cafe & Kitchen in Utrecht, stands for Water Tower, which immediately says a lot (because the cafe-restaurant is located in a water tower). Urban Cafe, that tells quite a lot (when you read 'urban', you think tiles on the wall and where possible a plant. Cool and hip). Both true, but what you (still) don't know (with certainty) is that the Kitchen part of WT Urban Cafe & Kitchen is on the 9th floor of the renovated water tower and offers a crazy (aaaanhaaaan) sensible view of the city. And that you can simply see the sunset over your plate without any crazy antics. What has not yet been said is that the tile on the wall in WT's case is dark green and beautiful. Just like the glass lamps (we want). And thanks to the sleek chairs, beautiful tables and delicious menu, it is not hipster but modern and yet timeless, and that is nice. That menu includes steak tartare (the search for who Bar Breitner surpassing in that area continues. Sorry WT, the steak tartare is very good but Breitner still wears the crown) and a delicious piece of veal. You can just have a drink in the cafe on the ground floor, but then you are selling WT and yourself short. Last fact: workplaces have been set up in the rest of the water tower. WT Urban Cafe & Kitchen
