Three times Italy in Amsterdam: these are the sandwiches from Zero Zero
zero-zero is going places, and rightly so. What started in 2022 as a beloved sandwich shop on Gustav Mahlerlaan grew rapidly into an Amsterdam favorite, now with branches on Nieuwe Spiegelstraat and Gerard Doustraat as well. The concept? Fresh, homemade sourdough schiacciata (yum!) generously topped with ingredients straight from Italy (yum again!) and at a very reasonable price too (jackpot). Think: mortadella with stracciatella and pistachios, porchetta with gorgonzola, or one of the vegetarian highlights with buffalo mozzarella, pesto, and San Marzano tomatoes. The doors are open for breakfast seven days a week. to go, a good lunch or a sandwich on the go (although they are so generously filled that sharing isn't a bad idea). And yes, there is often a queue, but it is worth it. My word of honor.
