5 x wonderful hotels in Marrakech

Hibernate? Refuel? Delicious food and drinks? The ultimate spa treatment? Stocking up for home? Nothing at all, nada? Marrakech, Marrakech, Marrakech. Real. Do it. Beautiful and affordable places to stay abound, and those who prefer a bit more luxury can also have fun. In the latter category we know the Beldi country club and yes, too El Fenn is written in bold letters in our prom book (no? then be sure to quickly check the links, both SO wonderful!) but Marrakech has so many more wonderful retreat places to hide. Like this one five wonderful hotels in Marrakech to withdraw when it is a bit bleak in the Netherlands.

Please note: luxury hotels in this case, although for chic in Morocco you still pay a fraction of European prices, just saying.

Barts-Boekje- la sultana 1

The Sultana
From the moment you step through the golden doors of La Sultana you know: these are going to be wonderful days. You walk through the majestic pillars surrounding the swimming pool, check into your suite where you enter through a heavy wooden door. There is a beautiful tade lacquer bathroom, chandeliers with pearls, fresh roses and Moroccan crafts everywhere: old-fashioned Moroccan grandeur it is. The hotel is a collection of five riads, each different in color and concept. You never want to leave the spa, the hammam is tailored to our Western wishes (read: an authentic treatment in a Moroccan hammam can be rough) and you come out with skin as pink as that of a newborn baby. . Of course, La Sultana has a beautiful roof terrace - like all beautiful accommodation addresses in the city, only here you look out over the Atlas Mountains and the bustling market below. Best of both worlds. The Sultana Marrakesh

Es Saadi
Located in the heart of Marrakech's Golden Triangle, Es Saadi Gardens & Resort is, in fact, 20 hectares of beautiful gardens overlooking the Atlas Mountains, near the ever-inspiring and hysterical souks and Djemaa el Fna Square. In short: an oasis. Or: a palace, because that's what it is. A palace with 84 suites and 10 private villas to be precise, the latter each with its own swimming pool and butler - you either stay in a palace or not of course. Here too, a fantastic spa: 3000 m² spread over three floors. Set aside a few days for this: there is a range of traditional and contemporary treatments available and it is the Dior Institute outside Paris. Costs a few cents, but then... Right. And once you're done, you can head to a variety of restaurants, Morocco's oldest casino and the famous Theater nightclub. Es Saadi

Barts Booklet - Riad Farnatchi

Riad Farnatchi
We can never get enough of a tasteful read, nor can we get enough of authentic Moroccan looks. It is nice to occasionally alternate those authentic looks with some well-chosen contemporary design. Et voila, there we have the topic of conversation, Riad Farnatchi. In the middle of the oldest part of the medina (which is prehistorically old) you have to avoid the donkeys with carts and the dilapidated mopeds to get to the raid, but it is worth it thanks to this combination of traditional and modern design. Deep red curtains, black velvet bedspreads, dark wooden doors and rooms surrounding a courtyard with a swimming pool. Suites 6 and 7 have their own roof terrace! Riad Farnatchi

Barts Booklet - Les Deux Tours

The Two Towers
This one, in the city's opulent Palmeraie. The boutique resort consists of a number of traditional villas in one of the most beautiful gardens in Morocco, just outside Marrakech. There is - of course - a hammam, you can order a spa treatment in your own villa (with a fireplace and antique Moroccan furniture), there are some incredibly chic bars and two top restaurants - you won't have to go outside for a while. The attentive staff comes and goes around the heated swimming pool with drinks, snacks and meals and strolling through the garden is highly recommended - you could easily get lost there and you will be entertained for hours. Also nice for those traveling with the mini-me: (well-mannered ;-)) children are welcome, there is both childcare and various children's menus. The Two Towers.

Barts Booklet - Dar Attajmil

Dar Attajmil
There are only four rooms within this cozy little riad in the heart of the medina, but that doesn't mean the owners are cutting corners. In fact, there are regular improvised music concerts in the courtyard, shopping excursions and cooking courses with the house dada (the cook). It is a five minute walk to the Djemaa el Fna and the pieces. And further? Furthermore, Berber carpets and aubergine-colored chairs in the shade of a large banana tree. It is small, intimate and quietly contemporary with cozy bhous (seating) filled with plush sofas, giant lanterns and various oriental works of art. During the winter, dinners are served in the lounge, and in the summer you dine on the roof terrace. The owner is Italian so expect the best of Italian and Moroccan cuisine! Dar Attajmil
