Restaurant Cornerstore: food, natural wine and music in Amsterdam North

The men of Binnenvisser - a favorite - were bursting with energy and, together with Michael Coehorst and Max and Ward from, among others, De Klaproos, opened a place with music in Amsterdam-Noord. You eat at Cornerstore Asian-inspired dishes, drink the best natural wines and listen to vinyl. Hop on the ferry to North!

It started with a trip to Japan, where Bob van Binnenvisser became charmed by the typical listening bars. In these tiny bars with a high-end sound system and a good vinyl collection, the bartender provides both the drinks and the choice of records. Binnenvissers Bob and Maarten saw potential in implementing this in a dining concept in Amsterdam.

The music system – à la music studio sound – was assembled, the record collection was already at home, the location was found and the menu was already created. Just like at Binnenvisser, we cook with local, seasonal – if possible biodynamic – vegetables. Only this time with Asian seasonings. Again, mainly a lot of vegetables and sometimes some fish and meat. Spicy, fresh, lots of umami, oil, soya and fermentation. The dishes are for sharing, but you can also order them for yourself.

Michael brought additional knowledge of natural wines. Expect the best, most special wines and sakes are also a regular table companion in the Japanese-inspired concept. Be sure to try the house aperitif of yuzu and sake. After which you will listen to the pictures a little more relaxed.

Cornerstore stands for good and pure food, top wines, the atmosphere of the North, and listening to good music. And maybe an unexpected set from one of the many DJ friends. Cornerstore sounds like a hit.
