These are the best wine bars in Eindhoven
Eindhoven may be known for design, technology, and PSV, but they know how to drink a good glass of wine here too. In fact, quite a few fine wine bars have opened up in recent years. From a hidden gem of Piedmont on the Keizersgracht to a sunny terrace at Victoriapark. For a date, drinks, or an evening where you try to convince yourself that one glass really is enough (spoiler: usually not).
Northern Italy in Eindhoven. That is perhaps the shortest summary of La Casera. On the Keizersgracht, next to RADAR, you will find this cozy wine bar where everything revolves around Piedmont. And no, they don't stop at just a good glass of wine there. At La Casera, you are lovingly given a story to go with it. About grapes, vineyards, altitudes, soil types, and why this bottle tastes exactly the way it does.
And then the food. Lots of cheese. Really lots of cheese. Italian cheeses from every corner of the country, complemented by other delicacies that make it dangerously easy to order a second bottle. And which, by the way, you can also simply buy here to take home.
Particularly special is the exclusive wine cellar, which is accessible by appointment only. Together with an expert, you delve into the bottles and taste wines that often cannot even be found outside Italy. Perfect for the true connoisseur, but also simply great fun if you are curious about what else exists besides the standard Pinot Grigio.
And then we go from Italy to Spain. Without leaving the street. Café Barolo is also located on the Keizersgracht and opened its doors in 2025 under the leadership of chef Adrian Zarzo, known from restaurant Zarzo. Not a small name, then.
Spanish influences predominate here, but don't let that mislead you. This is not a wine bar limited to a single country. The wine list happily travels throughout Europe and even ventures beyond it here and there. What is very Spanish, however? The tapas. Think of gambas al ajillo and patatas bravas made according to Zarzo's grandmother's recipe, but also extensive cheese boards and croquetas.
Also nice: you can here tastings Books lasting one and a half to three hours. For beginners, enthusiasts, and anyone who likes to pretend to taste the difference between cherries, red fruit, and “a hint of leather.” And yes, for the wine connoisseurs at the back of the room: a Barolo naturally just comes from Italy. But that shouldn't spoil the fun.
You find Victoria Wine at Victoria Park (how fitting), precisely between the Philips Stadium and the city center. An area that is still very much in development and therefore has a nice energy.
What we appreciate most? Things don't have to be so complicated here. No wine list that requires a dictionary. No prices that make you need to dip into your savings account first. In fact, you can get a glass of wine here starting from just five euros.
Add to that a large terrace, staff who know what they're talking about, and a relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable sticking around all afternoon.
A list of great wine spots in Eindhoven without L'Avenue? Unthinkable.
This charming establishment sits on the bend of the Kleine Berg, where wine and food complement each other perfectly. As the name actually already suggests.
The wines here are definitely top-notch. No idea what to choose? Just say so. We’ll explain everything in detail, without any jargon or raised fingers.
Fortunately, they know exactly what they're doing in the kitchen too. We are still dreaming of the sardines, after all. Not just from a can, of course, but served on toasted bread with all sorts of tasty toppings and the oil from the can simply served alongside. Simple, but brilliant. Add the oysters to that, a heated terrace for colder days, and a lively, cozy Kleine Berg, and you essentially have everything you're looking for for a long evening of dining. Cheap? No. Worth it? Absolutely.
The newest name is the last on this list. You can find No. 12 at Grote Berg 12. Sometimes a name doesn't need to be more complicated than that. This gastrobar focuses not only on wine, but also on cocktails and shared dining. Handy for groups of friends where half want wine, the other half cocktails, and no one can agree on where to eat.
The kitchen draws inspiration from surprising places. Think tropical influences from Hawaii and spicy flavors from New Orleans. Not exactly what you expect in the heart of Eindhoven (bonus points for the courtyard), but that is precisely why it works so well. The wine list doesn't play it safe either. It features not only the well-known classics, but also wines from Hungary and Moldova, for example. Surprising? Absolutely. Delicious? We leave that for you to discover.
