The coolest ice creams from Damsco
If the mercury rises even a few degrees above zero, we start craving ice cream. Our offspring included, because they know
It's a good thing that once the sunglasses come on, the ice creams will no longer be available. Although we

variants. So hurray for all those awesome ice cream parlors popping up all over Amsterdam. These are the best:
Newer than new and, in our opinion, number one: this ice cream shop in the increasingly nice and now also bicycle-free Tollenstraat. Here you can get a well-known scoop of lemon or vanilla, but you can also opt for cardamom or lime-basil. Everything is organic and made with fresh fruit. Another reason to make a pit stop here from De Hallen: the vegan milkshakes that you can put together yourself. We'll see you at La La.
You can of course get a cone and move on straight away, but for the ultimate 'if only it was always a holiday feeling', eat your ice cream on this tiny terrace on Javastraat. Favorite? The passion fruit flavour, always served here with a sweet wafer on top.
The winner when it comes to out-of-the-box flavors is the recently opened Ludo and Hedo on that increasingly cozy square at the Van Hall. The ice cream menu changes weekly and we have already seen craziness along the lines of baklava-pistachio and coconut-matcha. To name something. Ideal as a dessert after the vegetarian gyros from neighbors Vleesch noch Visch.

Two years ago this was the very first popsicle bar in Amsterdam and this ice cream bar at the Rembrandt Park is still doing good business. Come here for handmade ice cream on a stick with a topping. As a base you can choose flavors such as yoghurt-chia-strawberry, Vietnamese iced coffee and rabarer with cherries and then add a layer of chocolate on top. To enjoy it purely on a bench outside in the sun.
If you are going to spend a day hanging out in Noorderpark, for example at the now-almost-open restaurant Pompet, then you should not miss this ice cream shop along the way. Not the hippest on the list, but who cares if you sell sorbet ice cream in Redbull flavor. Well then.
Anyone who lives in the Rivierenbuurt has undoubtedly eaten pancakes or gotten an ice cream at IJsmanschap. A household name in the area and we understand that. No quick ice cream on the go here, but stick to the terrace with your chocolate-flecked scoop. And about those pancakes: they are made with sourdough batter with all kinds of goodies on top. You won't regret it.
In their own words, an ice cream parlor with a touch of glamour. And that is allowed, in Oud-Zuid. Ice cream maker Luc Blok is responsible for the well-filled tubs of ice cream and works exclusively with fresh products. We spontaneously suffer from choice stress here. Because are we going for stracciatella and banana, or are we going to do honey-figs this time? Extra tip: on May 18, the Ice Cream Boutique and the Friet Boutique will celebrate their fifth anniversary. Confetti!
Yes, Beukenplein, we would like to go there. And stay, because what a nice corner this is in East. A fresh salon with a lovely terrace and close to the Oosterpark. Guilty pleasure? Yoghurt ice cream with disco dip.
Open for over a year now and nothing but praise for this artisanal ice cream shop on a corner in the Pijp. The Italian Massimo Bertonasco is at the helm of the artisanal ice cream maker. No crazy combinations on the menu, but traditional flavors that immediately make you long for Bella Italia. Coffee hazelnut, for example, or pistachio. Everything here tastes like a holiday.
We mainly know them for their super healthy juices, but since last summer the Juice Brothers have also been doing good things with ice cream. In collaboration with the American brand Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, they opened the first vegan ice cream bar in the Netherlands on Haarlemmerplein. Ice cream made from pure ingredients and without unnecessary additives, we like.
Ice cream guru Kees Raat provides the sorbets and gelato here and yes, you get an ice cream that you cycle around for. You can enjoy a quick espresso at the bar here and you've also come to the right place for the chocolate of Amsterdam. Actually for everything that makes us happy.
Love, Jorien
