Romance in the Danish countryside: Camp Adventure
For those who think a romantic getaway always has to take place in Tuscany or Provence, think again. Less than an hour's drive from Copenhagen lies a magical place full of nature, design, and above all, romance. Camp Adventure might not sound particularly romantic, but here you can open a bottle of wine together, put your feet up by the campfire, and, the icing on the cake, fall asleep under the stars.
Camp Adventure is located in South Zealand, a region in Denmark with some of the clearest skies at night. Perfect for stargazing! You can stay in one of the luxurious yurts (think: comfy beds, a small kitchenette, private bathroom, and an outdoor terrace with treetop views). For an extra dose of romance, there are yurts with an outdoor pool and sauna.
Not a yurt type? No worries! There are other alternatives: The Hut, a wooden tiny house for two, the modern Valley Cabins with panoramic views and an outdoor pool, or the Lakeside Lodges, right on the water. Each one has a Scandi-style design, yet is cozy and, of course, very romantic.
One of the highlights at Camp Adventure is the Forest Tower. A literal highlight: the Skovtaarnet (Forest Tower) is a 45-meter-high observation tower that, as a Camp Adventure guest, you have exclusive access to at night. Can you picture it? Wine in hand, blanket wrapped around you, and a view over a seemingly endless forest—it doesn't get more romantic than this, does it?
Camp Adventure certainly lives up to its name, so besides lounging by the campfire, there's also room for a bit of action. Take a walk through the woods, go birdwatching, or climb and clamber your way through the treetop adventure course.
Also fun: the Forest Farm. Here you can stroll among 12 hectares of flower fields and, yes, you can pick your own bouquet. You'll also find a vegetable garden, chickens, rabbits, and goats. And in the small farm shop, you can pick up local treats and beautiful things: honey from their own bees, fresh vegetables, or natural skincare from Yrolí.
