Oh beautiful city, behind the dunes. We no longer just go to 070 for a day at the beach. There is also plenty of nice things to find in the center, the heart of The Hague. Previously, the fine coffee cuttings could perhaps be counted on one hand. Well, time has turned. Fine coffee shops are springing up like mushrooms. Here's the ultimate list.

Off to Scheveningen! The pier and the beach are, of course, the place to be in the summer. Hey, and if you're heading that way anyway, be sure to take a detour past Circus Coffee. Only open since May, but already a big favorite. And even though coffee is in the name, Circus Coffee is really about much more than just a good cappuccino (although we are happy to make a detour for that too). You can go there for colorful chia bowls, richly topped bagels (such as salmon avocado), toasties (of korean kimchi is highly recommended), specialty coffee and matchas. On the counter, you will also come across a few other things that are mostly homemade is: of chunky American-style cookies to cakes and other sweets. The interior is really incredibly stylish. We were immediately sold on the pink tiles of the counter. And the terrace is lovely too. Can't wait until you get to the beach? Then go for something to goOh, and feel free to bring your four-legged friend along, it's no problem at all.
That's how crazy things can get. Covid, musical men, and therefore no performances. As a result, a love of bread baking was unlocked. Friends and family enjoyed the delicious sourdough loaves, but couldn't it be bigger?
And so it happened! First, the two men supplied hospitality businesses (which soon multiplied), and now it was time for a shop, a café! So that not only the guests of their regular restaurants could enjoy it, but simply everyone. Whenever they wanted.
So: good bread, delicious pastries, and wonderful coffee from Ief & Ido (also nice!). Settle down comfortably on the terrace or in the cozy seating areas inside.
Do we like it best, with a knife to the bone? Perhaps. Pumpernikkel is a unique place where they bake amazing bread, but also have a lovely spot in the suburbs of The Hague. In the heart of the residential area, many a family or individual strolls to this delightful spot for a coffee fix or a delicious breakfast.
In summer, you can relax on the terrace or at one of the few tables inside. We love Pompernikkel.
Wonderful: a truly good coffee shop in the heart of a residential neighborhood. Café Drie is located on Goudenregenplein: a pleasant, quiet spot for good coffee. No frills, just quality. The atmosphere is relaxed and neighborhood-like, making it easy to linger. It's also a wonderful place to curl up with your laptop and get some serious typing done.
The cakes are served fresh daily and are hard to resist. There's a small lunch menu to satisfy your midday cravings.

Joe Joe, you can't imagine anything more cozy. That's probably what the people behind Roast Factory thought when they first called this place Joe Joe. After a long time of being responsible for the tastiest coffee beans behind many a place in The Hague, it was time for a place of their own. Now called Roast Factory.
Roast Factory is opening its doors in the center of The Hague. And it's not a bad location, namely the Brouwersgracht. It's a fairly large space (around 60 people can sit here, enjoy a cup of coffee, work, etc.). They offer a small lunch menu, and you can also enjoy a delicious slice of cake or other treats, all provided by the always excellent Meneer Leffers.
A household name among many surfers: the Tigershark. Hidden in the busy, diverse Badhuisstraat. The street where German tourists alternate the street scene with students on bicycles, with a surfboard under their armpit.
There you will find Tigershark. A delicious one lowkey little place where they have the tastiest coffee and delicious snacks. From Tigershark you can also walk straight to the beach, so that's one match made in heaven.
Create a modern specialty coffee bar, that's what we call Single Estate. With the aesthetics everything is fine: sleek appearance, beautiful interior and great coffee cups. The contents of those cups? From cappuccino to filter coffee, plenty of choice for everyone.
Single Estate is located at the beginning of Piet Heinstraat and that makes it perfect. Especially since we have more top addresses on this street - perhaps, we could say, the place to be in The Hague?
The coffee bar is open from 7 am on weekdays. So early birds can indulge themselves.
Around the corner from the Palace Gardens you will find Duckrabbit Coffee Brewers. Ideal if you have a day trip city centre The Hague will do it on foot, because Duckrabbit is a perfect place to take a break.
What lies behind this wonderful little thing? An incredibly enterprising duo. While one would delve into coffee, the other would bake the cakes.
The interior? Minimalist, clean, but still cozy, with beautiful wall posters and illustrations. The logo was made by a tattoo artist friend and summarizes the name of the business well.
The coziness of a lunchroom and the good quality of a coffee bar come together at Filtro. And that's around the corner from the hofvijver. Here you can have delicious sandwiches, egg dishes or delicious sweet snacks for lunch. You can sit comfortably on the terrace in front of the building or inside.
The coffee is very good, with beans from DAK. In the middle of summer and warm weather? Filtro's iced coffee was also perfect.
Oh Bartine, beloved Bartine. Where Bartine Café started in corona times with delicious sourdough breads and croissants (oh and cinnamon Buns), it is now a household name in the Zeehelden Kwartier.
Not just for bread and coffee anymore to go, but also as delicious sit down place. The quality that the lunch shop already had (on the Herengracht) continues in their second location.
In addition to delicious coffee, beautiful breads and croissants and others pastry you will find Bartine Market there. A wonderful shop for everything you need for your coffee at home (from receipts to cups) and the most beautiful cookery and food books. There is also a selection of natural wine ready for you to stock up on at home.
We're already familiar with Lot61 from the beautiful capital city of Amsterdam. Now, it's also worth mentioning that they have two wonderful locations in The Hague. One is smaller (and in the business district) of the city, but the coffee is as delicious as ever. Both locations are known for their specialty coffee, cozy atmosphere and tasty breakfast and lunch options.
The port of Scheveningen, not necessarily for many residents of The Hague the up to be. Well, we just want to say, don't judge too quickly because many nice companies are making their appearance. Where owner Carla (we should say baker and owner) first sold the most delicious breads and sweets from a small building on the Hellingweg, it is now serious business what the clock strikes. The Norvolk building is larger, has lovely places to sit (in the sun!) and is open from early morning until 17 pm. Perfect at any time of the day for a good cup of coffee, a tasty cinnamon bun or a well-filled sandwich.
