HERE you will find our clear Google My Maps with all the tips

Minibar

Minibar

Enjoy, because The Hague has gained another lovely spot. Opposite restaurant ñ, you will find Minibar. A small, cozy restaurant and wine bar. Which is open every day from 16 pm, ha!

Here you will find small dishes to share, which we think is a great combination, especially when French and German influences have been incorporated into the dishes, sometimes with a more exotic twist. For instance, you absolutely must start with the delicious milk bread served with mussel and fermented mushroom butter. Incidentally, you will find more fermented dishes on the (often changing) menu – nice! In addition, they have a large list of delicious European wines, so feel free to settle in for those as well.

Takumi Ramen

Takumi Ramen

Takumi Ramen in The Hague is the place for ramen lovers. The restaurant is part of a ramen chain that was founded in 2007 by Mr. Saeki and Mr. Okada and now has multiple locations in Europe. In this Japanese noodle restaurant, everything revolves around authentic ramen with broth and noodles imported directly from Japan.. The menu is nice and straightforward, yet varied with side dishes like gyoza and edamame, and ramen in all shapes, sizes, and flavors – so there’s something for even picky eaters. The interior is lively, the atmosphere pleasantly informal, the prices are low, and yes: it can get busy around rush hour. But hey, that usually says enough.

At Hito, there's always a whiff of the sea and fire, and you get impeccable intentions and execution to boot. The kitchen, led by Rogier Trip, is mouthwatering. Whether you go for a mix of all the starters and snacks, or simply choose your own "main" dish, everything is equally delicious. The menu offers a variety of options, such as white beans with morcilla sausage and parsley, or tuna tartare with tiger's milk, orange, and red onion. Exciting? Yes. Delicious? Hell yes.

Flora

Flora

The iconic place in the Energy Quarterwas empty for a long time, but has finally been given a beautiful purpose. Within walking distance of the center you will find Restaurant Flora on the 6th floor – dinner with a view.

Then the menu at Flora: small dishes to share, but also large main courses for those who prefer to keep everything for themselves. Recommended? The fried sprouts with White garlic. And also the radicchio salad with blue cheese dressing – sounds simple, but is deliciously executed. They also have three types of pasta on the menu and they regularly alternate between a vegetarian and meat dish.

Suus

Suus

Suus in Scheveningen, near The Hague, is a delightful spot for a fine dining experience. The restaurant is located in the De Plesman Hotel (a gem for interior design enthusiasts) and shares the same modern vibe with Art Deco elements and plenty of flair. Suusje Deli also recently opened here; see more further in the article. The brasserie dishes are inspired by French cuisine, but with a twist. Suus is a relaxed place with atmosphere, good food, and fine wine. Oh, and by the way, you are welcome at Albert Bar for a colorful cocktail.

Frog

Frog

La Rana is located behind Chinatown in downtown The Hague. Ha! Convenient for after a day of shopping and catching the train home. In this wonderfully warm, cozy Spanish restaurant, various dishes await you (dare we say tapas?). As with almost every trendy, new restaurant, you share the main courses. The vegetarian dishes, like cauliflower and asparagus, are delicious and surprising, pairing wonderfully with the secreta iberico. But besides meat, there's also plenty of fish on the menu: pulpo, combed fish, or delicious cod wrapped in ham.

Don't forget to order dessert. There's cheese, of course, but also delicious sweet treats that change regularly.

Pizza Beppe

Pizza Beppe

If we don't go to Naples, Naples will simply come to us. At Pizza Beppe, you'll eat authentic Neapolitan pizzas: handmade dough, San Marzano tomatoes straight from the Vesuvius region, and Fior di Latte that's truly exceptional.

In The Hague, take a seat at the location on Denneweg. The atmosphere? 'Cool & fine dining'. Culture, music, lifestyle, and pizza from top-notch stone ovens. Add plenty of craftsmanship and passion to that, and you're all set. It is not without reason that they were the first in the Netherlands to have the official Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN) quality mark – no concessions, only authentic.

Buon appetito!

Another tip if you're visiting The Hague is to stay overnight. Ha! Then you'll have two days to explore this wonderful city. You can sleep comfortably at Boutique Hotel By Friso.

QUERU 'Cantina Mexicana'

QUERU 'Cantina Mexicana'

Cutlery aside, taco in hand, and just enjoy. QUERU 'Cantina Mexicana' is the second restaurant of chef Alberto Nol. His first restaurant Ruiseñor, on Denneweg in The Hague, serves modern Mexican dishes and is more fine dining. QUERU, on the other hand, is a relaxed spot for comfort food combined with good cocktails. 'Queru' is an abbreviation of 'querubín', which means angel. It was the nickname of Alberto's father, who also owned a taco shop in Mexico City. When people said, “Let’s go to el Queru,” they meant they were going to Alberto's father for his signature tacos. The main dish Of course, the tacos are here, but you'll also find oysters and even bitterballen on the menu. Short on time? You can also order here or even have it delivered.

Shakshuka

Shakshuka

Shakshuka, isn't that that spicy Middle Eastern dish with egg? That's absolutely right, but it is also a fantastic restaurant from The Hague. Restaurant Shakshuka serves – surprise, surprise – traditional dishes from the Middle East. The name refers to the delicious dish that you can, of course, order there. The sandwiches are also delicious for lunch, but lunch is only served from Friday to Sunday. Dinner, on the other hand, is available every day except Monday. You order 'mazze' – small dishes to share (or eat all by yourself, that’s allowed too, of course). Think of: hummus, labneh, falafel, and more. There are few places as hospitable as this restaurant, and the prices are exceptionally low. Pure enjoyment. on a budget here.

Restaurant n

Dine and have drinks in a historic building, that's what you do restaurant n. This nice place is a bar and restaurant in one and is located in the center of The Hague. The terrace? Small but so cozy. The menu is full of Mediterranean delicacies, tapas (with a culinary twist), wine and a whole lot of fun. In short: recipe for success.

Be sure to book in advance, because even though The Hague has had restaurant ñ for a long time, it is still popular.

Vincenzos

Vincenzos

There is no day that is not good for pizza. And in The Hague there is really only one good answer to that Italian trait: Vincenzos. Look for a thyme-colored facade in the Zeeheldenkwartier and be lured in by the smell of herbs and spicy salami. If that doesn't work, the enormous pizza oven is a big one give away. Because it is clear that pizza is baked here. And what kind of pizza. It is shoved into the oven in front of you by an Italian mumbling chef (I once caught him whispering lovingly to his dough, how beautiful).

Are you closer to the center or the Statenkwartier? Then you can also visit one of the Vincenzo's locations there.

Café Bleu

Café Bleu

Vive La France, just in The Hague. Café Bleu, indeed with a blue facade (what's in a name), is where you need to be. At this wine bar you can drink classic cocktails and natural wines with a French touch. The menu also includes dishes such as 'Canard à l'orange' and baked camembert. As it should be with a real one dining cellar may also use the delicatessen and cheese board are not missing.

Make a reservation for dinner, but for breakfast and lunch, just drop in.

Lap song

Lap song

The classic Lap song It has been a favorite in the heart of The Hague for years. And it remains so. It is a great place for lunch, but during the day it is a bit dusty. In the evening, however, the place really comes alive. That is when the building changes owners and Pim, a wine connoisseur and hard-hitting joker, arrives, transforming it into a wine bar serving numerous Mediterranean snacks. We like.

Bowie

Bowie

Nice, warm, cozy and cozy - that's how you could describe the atmosphere at the wine bar and restaurant Bar Bowie! The restaurant exudes atmosphere, but with a modern twist. Nice decoration, a solid bar and French awnings; then you have us. You can drink a glass of good wine, or be pampered by one (or more, why not) of the fine French-Mediterranean dishes. In any case, you won't go home hungry because, from small to large appetites, Bar Bowie offers delicious dishes to share, but also dishes pour deux, such as refined cuts of meat or fish. For a big appetite but, it may be said, refined taste.

Caipi Cafe

Caipi Cafe

The Caipi Café is located in the old sailor's house at the end of the Scheveningen Fish Auction in The Hague. Perfect for ending a day in The Hague. You'd almost think you were going the wrong way, but at the end of the industrial street full of herring stalls, you stumble upon this trendy spot. The Fish Auction feels a bit like the Amsterdam-Noord version of The Hague. You can have lunch, drinks, dinner, and dancing. Every weekend is a party, with records spinning and cocktails being shaken. The menu? Street food meets Indonesian influences meets fish auction. That certainly means a bitterbal, but also fish & chips and delicious Indonesian food from the Javanese. Enjoy!

The Coterie

The Coterie

The Coterie is run by three friends with a passion for hospitality. They strive to create a special experience, which is why they give a twist to the traditional preparation methods of the European dishes on the menu. From three o'clock in the afternoon you are welcome for a drink - to stick around for dinner (if you haven't filled your belly with snacks yet). Food and drink go hand in hand, so a good wine or cocktail is a must. Again with a twist; a cocktail with sugar snaps is something we have never seen before.

The Coterie

Onda

Onda

Onda on Groenewegje is one of those places we walk into and immediately think: this is where we'll stay. A kind of modern urban cocoon. Warm wood, soft earth tones, curves that make us happy, and lighting that makes everyone look just a little bit more attractive. The interior balances somewhere between Tokyo minimalism and that laid back Southern European nonchalance. The record collection is on display, and the vintage audio booths give Onda that wonderful "something's happening here" vibe.

And then there's the menu, just as we'd hope for a place where taste and sound go hand in hand. No lengthy list, but a carefully chosen selection of dishes. Think seasonal dishes with a global twist. The dishes are made for sharing (or not, of course). nobody's judging), and everything comes at a pace that invites us to linger, listen, sip, chat, and then take another bite. The drinks menu complements this effortlessly: natural wines that are just the right amount of funky, cocktails that remain chic yet playful, and plenty of non-alcoholic options for those who want to enjoy with a clear head.

Café-Brasserie National

Café-Brasserie National

In the centre of The Hague you will find Café-Brasserie Nationaal, a gem in a 17th century building where you can fully immerse yourself in the French-Belgian cuisine. Chef Jermain Huisman alternates seasonal dishes with classic French-Belgian favourites, such as Oeufs durs mayonaise, Liège meatballs in Westmalle dubbel and Vol au vent lobster. Everything revolves around pure flavours and quality. Perfect for those who love good, honest food in a beautiful setting.

EVE by Erik van Loo

EVE by Erik van Loo

Restaurant EVE by Erik van Loo is located in the ADAM+EVE building, directly opposite our King's working palace. Who knows, if you are lucky, you might even see him passing by. In this stylish building – where good food, design, and a comfortable night's sleep come together – two-Michelin-star chef Erik van Loo (known from Parkheuvel) serves his refined French cuisine in a pleasantly relaxed setting. You can pull up a chair here for lunch, dinner, or just a few bites with a good glass of wine, from Wednesday to Sunday. Making a reservation is smart, because good things often fill up quickly… And Eve fills up quickly, wink. Extra nice: you can stay overnight in one of the stylish suites above the restaurant.

Pastis

Pastis

At Pastis in the Oude Molstraat the menu is filled with Parisian dishes and French wines and champagnes. No fuss, but a lot of classics. Oysters, snails, scallops… everything you expect at a French restaurant is there. The fact that there is more laughter here than in Paris is also a plus.

Pastis

Spending a whole day out in The Hague? Then take a look at this great lunch tips. Don't mention it.

Bayonne Restobar

Bayonne Restobar

Bayonne Restobar is back. With a new menu full of French and Spanish influences, and with two new owners. Sven Pullens and Robbert de Vreede, both alumni of the Hotel School The HaagThey have taken over the restaurant on Anna Paulownaplein. Every Thursday, you can enjoy a special Oyster and Cava deal on the terrace. A great start to the weekend! There is a wide selection of sandwiches, but also plenty of tapas to share. The mackerel tapa is an absolute favorite (it also goes well with the cava). For both lunch and dinner, a (considerable) detour is really worth it. It is located just outside the city center, so that might well be necessary.

Bayonne Restobar

Reef Alyemen

Reef Alyemen

The name might give it away: yep, food from Yemen. Ever tried it? No? Then you really must give it a try, and Reef Alyemen is a top spot for that. Lots of spices (always a good thing) and spicy sauces – Not too spicy, please. (unless you like it, of course). Think of rice dishes with lamb or chicken, stews, and fresh Yemeni bread from the tandoor (clay oven). Tip: go with a group and simply share everything on the menu – that way you get a little bit of everything and it makes for an extra special feast at your table.

Cafe Constant

Cafe Constant

As far as we are concerned Café Constant in The Hague the place to be for a relaxing and simply very enjoyable evening out. Think of it as a pub 2.0, or maybe even 3.0. Brown in looks with really tasty food that is conjured up on the table. The interior is simple: a bit of brown, a bit of tile, a lot of coziness. Candle on the table and such. In short: cozy. The menu is straightforward but also has plenty of surprising options. For example, the pan toastie with attorney, cheddar and cucumber sweet and sour. Or how about roasted cauliflower with chipotle-jalapeno sauce? Also always good is the option for one fries deluxe: the fatty bite but with a little rosemary. Café Constant is also a lovely place for a cup of coffee with a good croissant or madeleine.

Bilderberg Europa Hotel, Scheveningen

Bilderberg Europa Hotel, Scheveningen

Scheveningen can be classified below The Hague, right? We think so (because the ideal combination between getting a breath of fresh air and going out), that's why Bilderberg Europa Hotel is in this list. In any case, Scheveningen is a nice trip from the big, busy city, and The Hague is a wonderful place to experience that hustle and bustle. when in Scheveningen. For the people who still remember the old achenebbish have Scheveningen in mind; no, that's all in the past. Dogs are also allowed at the Europa Hotel, good to know. The beds are wonderful, the breakfast consists of all fresh products from local suppliers and after your breakfast (or dinner) it is nice to relax at Salt Coastal Bistro.

Restaurant de Kade

Restaurant de Kade

A fresh note in this list, because at the Restaurant de Kade In The Hague you can eat dishes that match your (natural) wine. Ha! For that reason, it is best to start with a bottle of fine wine of your choice (or get advice!) and choose your dishes accordingly. You can get wonderful information and advice about those wines from the enthusiastic and fun staff (do it!) They are competent, attentive and very friendly. We must have that. There are delicious seasonal dishes but also fine classics such as mussels, steak Tartare and a very good, extensive cheese board. Perfect address for a nice date night.

Envido is the wine bar that belongs to De Kade. For incredibly tasty wines, for on the terrace, or to take home.

KUA

KUA

You don't have to travel far and wide for the Mexican atmosphere. Just take tram 17, your feet or your steel horse to the Torenstraat - heart of The Hague. That's where you have to be if you fancy traditional Mexican dishes. No fuss or Tex-Mex stuff, but arrachera, mole, enchiladas and juicy baja fish tacos. If you know, you knowAt KUA everything is fresh, homemade and you will find dishes inspired by different regions of the country. Meat, veggie or vegan? No problem. Walter Benedict

Walter Benedict

The Denneweg is already a wonderful street in terms of nice boutiques and beautiful shops, but there is also one here Walter Benedict, where you can relax after an afternoon of exploring. For a draft beer (from that beautiful tiled bar) or oysters from the mainly French menu. A delicious one no fuss bistro cafe. Great place to stay.

Walter Benedict

Restaurant Basaal

Restaurant Basaal

Restaurant Basaal, perhaps our absolute favorite. At Basaal, the menu changes regularly, but the only dish you can always order is their famous potato bread, which, let's be honest, is divine. So, a must to start with.

At Basaal, they excel at the most delicious, refined small dishes, which, as is well known, are meant to be shared. These are sometimes incredibly original combinations and sometimes classics cooked to perfection. A mix of both. Furthermore, the staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. You don't need to read the wine list, as the staff are happy to help you find a good glass or bottle based on your own preferences. We can't wait to visit again.

Passion

Passion

Yeah yeah, Italian again, bLet us hear out. Italian food is simply always good, and every restaurant has its own style. One is a superb pizzeria, the next makes delicious fresh pasta, and another is the place to go for the best meat dishes. La Passione has amazing meat dishes, good fresh pastas, and truly Italian starters (just as you would expect). Owner Tellis's son is a sommelier – Tim ensures that you sip the very best (Italian) wines with that delicious food. La Passione also regularly organizes special events that offer a refreshing change from your average night out. Keep a close eye on the agenda on the website for these.

Portfolio

Portfolio

Wow, what one foodieparty at restaurant Portfolio in The Hague! Not only because of the fantastic natural wines (wanna try them all) but certainly also because of the amazing food that appears from the kitchen into the restaurant again and again. At Portfolio they love dishes with fish, shellfish and shellfish – that's okay, so do we! Plus: the Asian hint is unmissable throughout the menu, which makes for exciting and refreshing combinations. The good thing about all this? It Next Level Cooking, eating incredibly delicious food, and certainly enjoying good drinks all take place in cozy, relaxed, and casual settings. No chic, stuffy fuss; just a nice, unpretentious atmosphere. Oh, and we've been told it might just be the best-looking place in The Hague. Kudos.

Another Rotterdam favorite that also found its way to the South Holland coast: the Asian dishes from Little V The Hague are equally wonderful. And we don't know a better mixed pornstar martini.

restaurant de Zoute Kater

restaurant de Zoute Kater

A lovely little shop in the middle of the Zeeheldenkwartier. All the ingredients for a great evening out. Owner Eva wants to create a second living room with the business; friendly staff, accessible food, but really good. A wine bar, with a mix of natural and regular wines.

What is popular in Amsterdam (Binnenvisser, Bar Pif, Alba) was still missing in The Hague. Small dishes, well affordable and wines that make the evening. Voila, there is De Zoute Kater!

Yuzu Dining

Yuzu Dining

Yuzu Dining is a household name in The Hague. This is located on the beautiful Bierkade Japanese dining bar. Fancy a drink to start the weekend off right? You drink the best cocktails at Yuzu. Most top dishes are prepared on the Robatayaki grill. This brings out the most traditional flavors of Japanese cuisine. Shared dining with a cocktail or sake next to your plate. We are fans. Oh, and so are many others. Yuzu Dining has opened its second location on Kerkstraat, in the center of Amsterdam.

Café Franklin

Café Franklin

You will find all vegan trends and menus at Café Franklin mainly meat on the menu. Steak tartare, boeuf bourguinon or pork ribs from the charcoal barbecue with a good sticky sauce. But also mussels or – if you are… – a vegetarian mushroom risotto. With plenty of choice of specialty beer on the side.

Umami

Umami

For the best of Asia in The Hague you have to go to Buitenhof 46 (yes, right next to BIT). Chef Han from star restaurant Han Ting (just look it up) opened this restaurant a two-minute walk from Han Ting. Unique to Umami, a tea pairing. Yep, exactly what you think it is. The special tea sommeliers come up with the best combination between the tea and the Umami dishes. By the way, you think Umami in several places, such as Eindhoven, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Maastricht. And that is not without reason.

Restaurant Bog

Restaurant Bog

While we recover from searching for how we got that dash through that o on our keyboard, take a look at the beautiful Scandinavian interior of Beech. Because yes, if you want to enjoy New Nordic Cuisine, it is of course best in a Scandinavian atmosphere. Not for the budget, but very nice for a good evening out. Also important: the menu for vegetarians has been given just as much thought and as much love as the meat and fish menu. Works of art on your plate. Real fermenting, smoking and pickling like they do in Denmark and Sweden.

Gastropub & Brewery Van Kinsbergen

Gastropub & Brewery Van Kinsbergen

Evenly matched, but fortunately far enough apart to call it competition. We find ribs and steak on the menu at Van Kinsbergen on the beautiful Prins Hendrikplein. It's always very busy here, and a DJ comes to rock the place on Friday evening until late (or should we say early?). Further on the menu? The Van Kinsburger is approved, and so are the twister fries with parmesan and truffle or (ahem: and) twister fries with cajun spice. Van Kinsbergen also has a large drinks menu - fortunately also a large bar - full of imported specialty beers and they brew their own brews on site. Also good to keep an eye on: the Weekly Specials (think: chicken Monday, cocktails Thursday).

Café Kiek

Café Kiek

The team behind the Zoute Kater (the neighbors) expanded and scored the perfect corner property on the popular Prins Hendrikplein, and that is actually a success in itself. Location? Check. Concept? Check. Execution? Double check. Outside, you can settle down on the sunny seating areas from early morning until late at night.

As for the food, they keep it nice and simple and straightforward: a few options per time of day, and we think that's just fine. A croissant in the morning, a sandwich at lunchtime, and in the evening small shared dishes like charred leeks with stracciatella.

A place to settle down all day long. Lovely.
