A beautiful and also affordable (read: quite cheap even) hotel, or actually: a handful of beautiful hotels, in the heart of the city with a fantastic breakfast (a rarity); that is Hotel Praktik. Praktik has several locations in Barcelona and one location in Madrid. The names of the hotels are nice, they betray their theme. For example, there is Praktik Garden (absolutely a favorite!), a hotel that is decorated as one big garden. The reception is full of plants, in the conservatory you will find a bench with a palm tree-like print and there is a beautiful inner garden with large green plants, wooden tables, lounge seats and those cozy little lights. For a great breakfast you have to go to Praktik Bakery. This hotel has, as the name reveals, a bakery in the hotel. You wake up with the smell of freshly baked bread and can eat croissants and bread from the bakery in the small café. The rooms of the different hotels are simple and minimalist. The walls are white, there is a large white bed and here and there are picture frames to brighten things up a bit. The rooms have large windows, which let in a lot of light and some rooms have balcony doors. In short, a nice hotel, right in the middle of Barcelona. And Madrid. Hotel Praktik
