Often, very often, we are asked if we really know a nice and affordable hotel in Amsterdam. You know, one of those hotels that is just nice, looks good, where the people are nice and the location is central, and for which you don't have to eat peanut butter sandwiches for a month. One like that. Well, we know a handful of them, because Amsterdam is not littered with such things. But they are there! And it was recently renovated The Times Hotel Amsterdam is one of them.

You can already see that The Times Hotel is good news when you arrive walking, driving or cycling: when the sun shines, the doors are wide open and you get to see the picture of the lobby from the sidewalk: a perfect mismatch furniture, concrete look walls, brass details and just a wonderfully clever style.

Inside, the good news continues happily: The Times Hotel is a fully family owned corporate shop hotel in the heart of Amsterdam; on the historic Herengracht to be precise. The fact that it is a family business is evident in everything: there is love in every corner and not only is the warmest welcome - as if you are visiting family - but that hospitality continues throughout your stay. To continue about that family: do you know that feeling that you never have to be 'on' all the time with your own family, but you can also just sit quietly for a while? Well, that is also possible at The Times Hotel. Leave-me-alone at its most loving.

Fancy some fun? That works out well: the hotel is a place where rest and entertainment are close together. Around the corner you will find most of Amsterdam's nicest restaurants, cafes and shops (e.g. The 9 Streets) and then come back to your own wonderfully quiet part of the canal for a while.

The program hotel has recently been completely renovated: the aforementioned tasteful, cozy living room offers space for a cup of coffee overlooking the canal, in grandmother's kitchen you can enjoy a glass of wine and the long table is ready for a nice long breakfast together. Okay, the latter was canceled for a while during corona, but it will come again. Now you just get the same delicious breakfast in your room. Also completely good!

Oh, not unimportant: La Familia has a preference for Italy, the country where family first is included in the constitution (right?). The hotel house wine comes from Enoteca Sprezzatura, including the wine merchant of the Toscanini restaurant, in the interior you will spot beautiful vintage Stilnovo lamps and in the kitchen the terrazzo from Carrara catches the eye. The nice colorful chairs in the rooms? These come from the Amsterdam brand Fest.

Enjoy a staycation on the Herengracht The Times Hotel, because why not? Delicious food, the pot is currently selling sushi, but you can also be a bit rebellious with the family. It will certainly be enjoyable.
