The labyrinthine complex with its small staircases is reminiscent of Franciscan nuns, featuring modern art that evokes them. The rooms are somewhat American-businesslike (read: large and impersonal, in our opinion), but the extensive breakfast in the neo-Gothic chapel is fine. They are happy to tell you about the rich history of the building, connected to a fruit and vegetable wholesaler. After a complete renovation in 2016, the hotel offers twelve unique rooms, ranging from single to triple rooms. Gold paintings above the bed form the Scheepshuys logo. After a renovation in 2020, the new owners reopened this oasis of peace: with the sounds of birds, the smell of greenery and nothing else. The rooms, with a mix of Scandinavian and vintage design, are furnished with love. Fresh breakfast with local ingredients and a lush 2600m² garden, where you can pick raspberries, blackberries and apples, complete the picture. Georgia's bathhouse is a Bed and Breakfast right in the center of Breda. When you walk out the door you immediately find yourself on the main market, with super cozy terraces (so you can crawl home). Don't feel like going into town for a bite to eat? No problem, there is a kitchen in the room where you can put something together yourself. Near the large window (overlooking the busy and especially cozy) there is a round table for a delicious lunch or dinner. After a day Breda exploring, you could probably use some rest. That's possible! The room has a bath to relax.

Sounds delicious, right? That's what they thought Bliss Boutique hotel in the middle – on the Grote Markt of all places! – in the center of Breda too. From the hotel it is only a 500 meter walk to the middle of the Beguinage. To enter no time To discover the city or to travel a longer distance, you can rent bicycles at the hotel. Old English, that is how Bliss can best be described. And although the rooms are a bit dated, we would always choose Bliss again and again.

Everything is easily accessible from the hotel, as you are right in the heart of the city. The pictures are looking good And it really is the most contemporary (read: hip) hotel in the city. However, when we stayed there ourselves, we found the hotel's digital marketing to be just a little bit better than it ultimately turned out to be. But in any case, a great option!

Do you love nature? Then you should take a look at Park hotel MastboschThe hotel is located right by the Mastbos, you guessed it. Admittedly, the hotel is truly outdated, and we are itching to get to work on it. For the hotel's old, romantic atmosphere is unique, and we can only hope that any potential new owner or investor will restore these incredible details to their former glory (and throw all the 'neon gimmicks', huge flatscreens, and other modern-intended but poorly executed novelties into the trash, but not the beautiful classic oak, the dark blue carpeting, and the pink wallpaper in the hallways). Because the hotel is not located right in the center and is situated by the woods, it offers wonderful walking opportunities and numerous cycling routes. After a bike ride or walk, you can enjoy a nice glass of wine in the sun on the hotel terrace. It is only a 5-minute drive from the hotel to the center, and you can easily walk into the always charming Ginneken.
