HTL Kungsgatan, Stockholm
Less than a five minute walk from Stockholm CS the HTL Kungsgatan hotel is for everyone who wants to stay affordable and in the heart of the city. The rooms are simple with a sleek design, the bathroom is small but efficient and check-in is done digitally in the lobby-Slash-the hotel's candy store. It goes something like this: cheerfulness all around in that candy store, then a big disappointment when you get to the front of the hotel restaurant, at the elevators - because boring and businesslike - not so inspiring at all, then not necessarily a jump for joy when you get to your you-can't-turn-around-room and then, pfff, euphoria when you decide to give HTL a chance after all and walk through to the back where there is an oh so cozy courtyard, with pink walls and a super cozy bar. And then the rest promptly doesn't seem so stupid anymore and everything between the candy store and the patio is just completely fun and above all a - again - super affordable top tip. Speaking of top tips: at the reception-slash-candy store there hangs a large map of the city and a jumble of post-its. You want to take a picture of that because the staff really knows the best hits of the city. HTL Kungsgatan
