3 x animal spotting, just in the Netherlands
Of course you can go to the zoo: exciting! Apenheul, the Dolfinarium, Ouwehands Zoo (where your little one can stand nose to nose with the polar bears, how fun!) ... All equally impressive. Although we find it a little more exciting when we have to do a little research ourselves for the fauna of our country. Where? Here.
This may seem too easy to me, but to be honest we can hardly express how nice the accommodation area of the Brabant safari park De Beekse Bergen has become. Near Tilburg you can stay in an attractive and incredibly comfortable lodge that borders, yes, the outdoor area where giraffes roam, ostriches run, zebras hop around and where a seal dives for a fish. Let's be honest: a day in Beekse Bergen is fun, but anyone who has ever stayed in the holiday park will never want anything else.
In the middle of the Amsterdamse Bos at Geitenboerderij Ridammerhoeve, anyone who wants to get acquainted with real farm life, while the work continues as usual. There are a hundred dairy goats walking around the farm, right through the chickens, pigs, cows, horses (and visitors). For 50 cents you can feed a bottle of milk to the baby goats (but note: on sunny weekend days there are more toddlers with bottles than goats, so look for the quiet hours!) In addition to feeding the goats, you can also have a drink on the terrace drinks, go to the playground, celebrate a birthday party or go to the farmer's market on Saturday. The farm shop sells many homemade cheeses, butter and yoghurt. The famous goat ice creams are incredibly delicious!

If you want to spot Dutch seals (do it!), you can of course go to Pieterburen. Combine that with the DoeZoo in Groningen where you can hear, see, feel, smell and taste. A snake around your neck, petting a skunk and of course kissing a frog. No seals, no, but you can spot them in the wild when you travel to Vlieland or Texel and visit one of the very nice and specially designed seals. seal boat trips books.
