Mischa in Utrecht is the place to be for specialty coffee and bread lovers.
When it became known that Sanne, owner of bakery Loaf, was stepping down and was looking for a successor, it quickly became clear to Gawan. It was a case of being in the right place at the right time, because this meant he could turn 'his hobby into his job.' He went from home baker for the neighborhood to owner of his own bakery slash coffee shop in Tuinwijk. Mischa is the new hotspot in Utrecht and your one-stop shop for specialty coffee, patisserie, and delicious pure breads.
The specialty coffee shops in UtrechtThey can certainly be found, but if we're honest, there's always room for a new spot, especially when it's as good as Mischa. In Tuinwijk – call it the edge of the city center – you'll find the newest addition: Mischa.
This delightful, cozy spot (with a bar by the window) is cozy, cute, and a feast for the eyes. Butter-yellow and soft-blue interior, combined with beautiful wood. A great second living room, if you ask us. Furthermore, what comes out of the kitchen is simply to be praised: freshly baked, crispy croissants, perfect pastries, and the purest bread, for which the flour is sourced from the South of France.
You're also in the right place for coffee; no half-cups here, but specialty coffee with beans from various local roasters. You can enjoy that coffee at the bar, but also in the small garden behind the building. In the summer, you can always find us there.
The pastry menu is often announced via social media and changes regularly. How about a rhubarb tartlet with cardamom or a peanut cookie with peanut butter cream? You've got us!
