Spending the night on Texel: the nicest hotels and accommodations
When you think of the Wadden Islands, you immediately think of Texel, right? Fortunately, we also know the other islands of the TV-TAS quite well by now, but Texel is one you would like to return to. Although much is still good from the old school, there are still new hotspots that stand out from time to time. And we also really like these hotels and accommodations.
A mix of oldies and new places to spend the night on Texel can be found in this list.
The dream on Texel: after a night's sleep in a truly comfortable bed, combine your morning swim with a long mudflat walk, then warm up and relax in the sauna overlooking the greenery, and end the day feeling great in restaurant Gusta as the sun slowly sets over the polder. That's what we want. It's possible at the charming Boutique Hotel Texel.
And ten points for Spa Woolness where you literally come to a standstill, in the middle of nature. There is a complete Bos–Polder–Wad wellness experienceInspired by the island's natural elements, this spa boasts four saunas and steam baths (the Forest Sauna, Bio Hay Sauna (polder), Wadden Salt Sauna, and the Sea Steam Steam Bath), a jacuzzi overlooking the polder, a heated soft-water pool, outdoor rain showers, and relaxing areas in the spa garden. It's also the most comprehensive spa on Texel. Another plus: there are several salons for treatments and massages, and you can take sports and yoga classes in the pool and gym.
After relaxing, it's on to Gusta restaurant. Here, everything comes fresh from the countryside: casual à la carte or go all out with Fien Dining (fine dining Texel style). The kitchen uses local and organic ingredients, following the principles of Dutch Cuisine and Green Key. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, high tea, high wine, high cocktail, drinks, dinner, and Fien Dining. Conveniently, the restaurant, like the spa, is also open to non-hotel guests.
What screams holiday more than sun, sea and beach? You don't need much more to have a wonderful holiday. At least, that's what we think. That's why it's wonderful to get away from it all and take the boat to Texel. And where should you sleep? At the Waddenlodges, please.
A wonderful holiday home for six people. Equipped with all amenities, and therefore perfect for refueling. With a large terrace and wonderful sea views, because the best thing about this house is that there is one private beach sits with. Just the benefits of the beach, but with luxury and comfort at hand and lots of privacy. The living room is flooded with daylight through the large glass facade. And the kitchen? Everything you need. There is a large wood-burning stove, which creates that wonderful atmosphere with that crackling fire. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The bathrooms have a walk-in shower, one of which also has a sun shower. Great stay here.

Miko runs a wonderful bed and breakfast on the edge of the village of De Koog where dogs are also welcome. The best of both worlds (dog owners know: you often either find an address that is just not that nice, or your four-legged friend is not welcome)!
Owner Miko furnished his B&B himself. In fact, he made almost everything himself. The most beautiful room is the beach room: a 'starry sky' has been created above your bed and the sun sets (or rises, depending on how you look at it) next to your bath. Every morning you will receive a large picnic basket with a delicious, different every day, breakfast on your doorstep. No fuss, just good and exactly what you need in the morning. You can also take that basket onto the beach/dunes for a picnic. This is convenient, because you only have to walk out the door, cross the street and you are in the dunes.
You can spend the night in the heart of Den Burg at Just Texel. And we are here for it. Because man oh man the interior of these suites is amazing. The beautiful one beachy-style they have created here ensures that instant holiday feeling. With a beautiful wicker hanging chair in the corner, or a lovely lounge sofa. There is plenty of place to chill.
That said, in addition to great accommodation, you also have access to your own beach house, so you can enjoy the beachy vibe you can continue straight to the 'real' beach.
Just to give you an idea of the atmosphere: spend the whole day on the beach, watch the sunset with a glass of wine, put your things in the beach house for tomorrow, and then on to Just Texel, where the wonderful shower with all the luxury and comfort awaits you.
With no fewer than twelve suites On East a beautiful hotel in the middle of Texel. The suites are spread over a large farmhouse from the 18th century and the weed barn. Each suite has its own charm, varying in theme: garden, farm, wellness, deluxe or superior. The rooms are mainly suitable for two people, so it is the ideal place for a (romantic) weekend away with your partner. But of course you can also just go to Op Oost with a friend, because there is plenty to do. From a game and picking tour in the edible garden to yoga classes that you can book, and we haven't even mentioned the activities that the island itself has to offer.
And if you are going to sleep at Op Oost, then join us Cooking Atelier. With the same vision, Kook Atelier also tries to pay tribute to nature. With a changing menu, “Served By Nature“, the chef takes you on a culinary journey across the island. Experience Texel nature on your plate.
You will find the luxury suite in the middle of the charming village of Den Burg The Lion's Castle. This wonderful Airbnb is fully equipped. From a well-equipped kitchen (with its own coffee maker and beautiful crockery) to a comfortable queen-size bed. It also has a small terrace with a lovely lounge chair, ideal for relaxing after a day at the beach or after a walk. Preferably with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee in hand.
The village center is within walking distance, so you can easily get to Texel Branding for an extensive breakfast, where they make their own bread and coffee. Homemade is always better, and you can definitely taste that here.
Time has stood still in Texel for a while. And that certainly doesn't have to be a bad thing. And that leaves hotel The lime tree see all too well. With a classic style, this hotel offers the perfect place to really come home to the island.
A tip from Flip: book a bottle of prosecco or a bouquet of flowers with your room, because then you will feel completely at home when you enter.
The rooms are nice and large with lots of light. Wonderfully classic, with a modern touch. Very minimalist furnishings, but fully equipped. Their motto: everything for a carefree stay.
From nice and classic to nice and cozy and very cozy. The entire top floor is available, with a private passage through a staircase, you can pretend you are a real local. This B&B is suitable for 5 people. So there is plenty of space on the top floor. With lots of wood and lots of light, it is very nice to stay here. The decoration is minimalist, but with the right amount of 'jeu' (a plant here, a cute cushion there, you get the idea).
The location is wonderful, in the middle of the Waal. There is no possibility to cook in this accommodation (but to heat up a nice snack, because an oven and microwave are available), but that is not a problem, because there is plenty of fun nearby for a nice snack and a drink. .

From the soaps that are ready in the shower to the accessories that complete the interior. There are seven rooms in this boutique hotel, with each room having a thick, fat king-size bed to relax on.
And the owners of The Feast We also understand very well that you come here for peace and quiet. So the option to sleep in for a long time and check out later can also be booked. Enjoy.
