But first let's take a step back: by car to England, that is possible through the tunnel, if it weren't for the fact that the English are terrified of diseases from the mainland. That's why the only way to travel with the dog is by boat from Dunkirk. Exactly, the place from the (much discussed) film that is now in the cinema. A fine ride to the French Dunkirk but it is even more fun to make a day trip of it. And now we have come across a B&B that can make sure that you miss the boat completely...

Enter B&B DE Meidoorn, a picture of a bed and breakfast near Dunkirk and the beach of De Panne (and near Plopsaland… Ouch) in an authentic renovated farm in the middle of the West Flemish landscape. There are two guest rooms and, the nicest, a log cabin, the lodge (only here dogs are welcome, not in the rooms). The farm is authentic and atmospheric without becoming old-fashioned (just right) and equipped with all 2017 comforts. The fresh and extensive breakfast is to write home about, to say the least, and is served, if the weather is nice, on the beautiful veranda or terrace – holiday. Bad weather? Even better: in that case you hide in front of the fireplace. And or in the bath on legs.
