Lots to like about the Schiehaven in Rotterdam
Rotterdam is a city full of development. Time and again, a dormant part of the city area emerges as a new lively neighborhood. By accident (or not really by accident of course) we ended up at the Schiehaven in Rotterdam West. There appears to be a lot of fun, tasty and creative things to do along the Maas, in the Schiemond district. From a neighborhood bakery to a social breeding ground and a vintage bicycle repair shop. Qua formal and casual looks the Schiehaven is also nice to see: old warehouses, harbor view and graffiti. So on to the Schiehaven in Rotterdam West. If you want, take the water tax, because it stops in front of the door.
Are you in Rotterdam and is your stomach rumbling? They also have them at these stores good lunch.
In an old garage at the Schiehaven there is an unmissable cobalt blue shop. Neighborhood bakery Aap Noot Bread bakes sourdough bread to order. People from the area can take out a bread subscription here. Fortunately, there are also wonderfully smelling bread, boluses, focaccias and Buns fresh from the oven. This blue spot is not only a bakery, but also an exhibition space and they give workshops (to children). A specialtyAdd a filter coffee, soda or sandwich and, if possible, some sunshine. And that's a nice breakfast or lunch in the Schiehaven.

One door to the left (or to the right if you are facing the other way around) and you will find a restaurant EAUX Posse. In this rough harbor area you will find the warmth of a neighborhood restaurant at Eaux Posse, the formal and casual looks of a cozy bistro and top-level food. And we like all those contradictions. In terms of dishes, EAUX is French Basque and they serve a lot of vegetables, quite a bit of fish and the occasional meat. From smoked pumpkin to oysters, scallops and ribeye. Far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you can enjoy lunch and dinner both indoors and outdoors at EAUX Posse.

One door further (I don't kid you) is Studio Rook. This is where owner Rokus builds special vintage bikes. Completely according to your own imagination or to order. Bicycles are made to last and Rook restores old frames into new, coolest ones rides. On the website you can check which bicycles are immediately available or request what kind of bicycle you have been dreaming of for some time. And maybe soon you will be riding an old but new, nice and durable, 90's feel bicycle that is also of the best quality gear is provided.

For your vintage finds you need direction The Pearl. From clothing to designer furniture: you can't believe your luck in this warehouse. The store consists of two hundred square meters on two floors, namely the storage and the shop. When you walk up the bright blue stairs you will also be surprised with a panoramic view of the Schiehaven. In short: a place with only presents.
At OASIS it's all about creativity and sustainability. And to radiate this, they organize the coolest events and work together with local retailers and people who want to contribute to society. Keep an eye on the agenda, because one moment you will find a vintage market or a hip party here, and the next moment they will be holding a fundraiser to recycle items. A place that makes Rotterdam (and the world) a bit more beautiful.
