Man oh man, we are so in love with the Dutch coast. #nevernot isn't it nice there, all year round, but especially during this beautiful summer of 2018. So that we never forget it (and so that NO ONE ever says that we never have a beautiful summer in the Netherlands). Oh the glory. If we are allowed to sleep over, our tail will start wagging (as if we had a tail that could do that, of course). Can! In Zandvoort aan Zee, for example - the most accessible beach in the country - and at the brand new, fantastic Beachhouse Hotel. Bam.

Above all, we have to say one extremely important 'thing' about the new Beachhouse Hotel in Zandvoort aan Zee: you sleep ON the beach here, and not across the road or the boulevard like the rest of the hotels in Zandvoort ( and actually all beach hotels in your own country) is the case. That's in real life maybe only a few meters away, but it makes all the difference in terms of that beach holiday feeling!

From your hotel room (provided you book one of the rooms with a sea view of course) you look out over those aforementioned beach huts over nothing other than our own beautiful coastline, the North Sea and the sun that is slowly setting there. All year long. Although: the huts are there from mid-April to mid-September, so outside that season it is really only the sun and the sea that you see. If you haven't packed your bags yet (which I really can't imagine), Beachhouse Hotel has even more notes to its song. We mention a number of wonderful family rooms, also with a sea view, which can be linked together if desired. So that you and your partner have the (enormous!) room to yourselves, and the kids can have fun in their own room.

That's what you want anyway, to have that enormous room to yourself, as the rooms, and certainly not just the family rooms, are equipped with every luxury and comfort. Giant TV, super-fast WiFi (yes, sorry, we still want it) and – paraparapaaa – an equally gigantic bathroom with a large bath with jacuzzi. From your bath, if you stretch your neck just a little, you can see the sun sink into the sea. Again: it doesn't get any better.

 

The largest rooms have a kitchen - very handy for those traveling with a little one - and have enough cupboard space to store all your stuff - very handy for those traveling with a little one. The also more than spacious bed is just the right hard-fluffy (mattress nice and firm, blankets and pillows have that well-known hotel fluffyness that you never get at home) and there is a living room with windows that can be fully opened so you can get the most out of it. you can enjoy the aforementioned beach hut feeling. And that's it, enjoy.

In the morning you dive into the breakfast buffet before 11 am (ha! They don't have that in those beach huts) and then you can leisurely find one of the tents nearby. Because that, besides the views of the sunset, is the second biggest advantage of sleeping on the beach: when the rest of the Netherlands has to get on the train or in the car, you're already there. You can be the first to score a spot. Effortless. We mention a Hippie Fish at a 20-minute walk from the hotel, a Bernies Beachclub at 5. At Tent 6 you can be in fifteen minutes and the half-hour walk to Tijn Akersloot is a wonderful one.
