Urban Espresso bar in Rotterdam: the address for your solo coffee date
As I write this I am sitting at the reading table Urban Espresso Barin Rotterdam West. Nice to have a coffee shop near my house. When the walls are closing in on you, it's wonderful to work outside the home, read a book or have a solo coffee date (or so we think). Besides delicious coffee, they also have breakfast, lunch and dinner. This way you can alternate a few hours of work with a nice lunch. Balance is key, right?
While it feels like minus 10 outside, I sit at a large table in this cozy coffee shop with my fellow everywhere-but-homeworkers. When you walk by, it is immediately clear that you can open your laptop here without any worries and sit there for hours. Fine! I am looking for an electrical outlet (otherwise I can leave quickly) when I am asked if I want to order something. A cappuccino and banana bread. As I install myself at the table and take a bite of my freshly baked banana bread, I look at the people and the interior. The fact that such a cute, nice place is only ten minutes from my house tells me that I should go for a random walk more often and discover new places.
With a fresh croissant for breakfast or a sweet potato sandwich or pita with grilled halloumi for lunch, you will undoubtedly go home with a full belly. Tip: you can also order these dishes to-go, together with a flat white, hot chocolate or cortado. Nice in the summer for the park or a quick pick-up in this cold winter weather. Is there more? Of course! Every third Thursday of the month you can enjoy a vegetarian three-course menu. You do need to make a reservation for this. Oh, and last but not least: you can eat the homemade cakes on site, but you can also order them in advance. This ranges from the well-known classics (read: cheesecake or carrot cake) to gluten-free and vegan variants.
