Weekend tip Amsterdam: ARTIS Zoomer evenings

For years, it's been our favorite Amsterdam summer evening destination, especially for us grown-ups: the ARTIS Summer Evenings. In July and August, ARTIS is open on Saturdays until sunset. During the ARTIS Summer Evenings, you can picnic on the grass until the wee hours of Saturday, listening to live, Music and watching the animals and plants at ARTIS. A welcome change from your crowded evening at the park or on a terrace.

The summer evenings at ARTIS are back! From 5 July to 30 August, the park is open extra long every Saturday and there is a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. Children can participate in children's yoga: nice exercise and relaxation while they learn to breathe like a lion and stretch like a giraffe. There are performances by artists such as Laura Sjin (known from Do I still miss you?) and you can express your creativity during a workshop at the ARTIS-Ateliers, where you can make your own button with a drawing of an animal or plant from the park.

Open until late and with a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. There are different activities on every date. Special explanations and tours by the ARTIS gardener, astronomer, biologist, and volunteer. There are also workshops, performances by up-and-coming bands, and special activities for the little ones, like children's yoga and puppet shows. An afternoon and subsequent evening at ARTIS seems especially cozy to us in a beautiful setting. The spectacular animal sounds are a gift.
